He used to be on KALB. Hasn't been on there in a while. I gather he's in some other line of work now and does weather as a hobby.

That’s a good idea. I live in a pier and beam house and will do that tomorrow am. I guess anything helps to protect those pipes.

I just load up with water and shut my water off drain the pipes. It’s a lot less worry.

Well, the positive side is that Laura took care of all the trees in Lake Charles. So that’s a plus. We will see how the brand new transmission towers handle the ice.

Stay warm baw.

I like the winter too

Cold weather actually doesn't bother me much up to a certain point. I have far more tolerance for the cold than the heat for a Southerner for whatever reason.

You can always put on more clothes. In the heat, you can only take off so much before you eventually have to register on a list.

frick I was planning on eating the pigeons if things got bad.

That’s still an option, but it will be like being banned. You can read messages, but you won’t have a way to post anything if you eat the submit button.

Give me temps in the 30s like tonight over walking outside to 95 degrees and having your sunglasses fog up immediately or getting swamp arse walking to the mailbox.

14 degrees just three years ago. Who can foget that?

I don't remember if something happened 3 months, 3 years, or 3 decades ago these days. Concept of time is shot.

I don’t get why some people in the south, especially the Deep South, say they love summer. Fall and spring are good. Plenty of 70 degree sunny days with little humidity. The winter can get cold but mostly not freezing. But the summers have plenty of days with a heat index of 100+.

I hate the summers here. I think they'd be more tolerable somewhere like Virginia or North Carolina but here they drag on for half the year sometimes.

I’m 63 and remember Lake DeCade froze over in 1989. We hit the ice in a Hydra Sports hull made out of Kevlar. Had ice flying till we got to Liners Canal.

I was thinking the same thing. Crews have been clearing branches off power lines since the hurricane as well.
