re: Louisiana has lost 4k people to covid. These are the most common pre-existing conditions

Went to my doctor for a routine checkup today. He told me the Covid death numbers are pretty much bullshite.

He had 2 patients recently pass away, both death certificates listed Covid as the cause of death. Neither patient had ever tested positive for Covid.

I don’t think they are saying that only 18% obese. I think they are saying that 18% were obese and no other conditions. The fatties with heart conditions are in those categories.

Looks to me like there are a lot of baws reading right now that have a clinched arse. Especially the Top 5'ers

Hypertension (high blood pressure): 57.92%
Diabetes: 35.35%
Cardiac disease: 20.63%
Chronic kidney disease: 19.88%
Obesity: 18.62%

No, those are all comorbities.

They add up to more than 100%.

Obesity is probably low overall because hypertension and diabetes can be present in folks that aren't obese, as well as the fact that old people are the majority of the dead. They may no longer be considered obese (losing mass as you age), and hypertension is common in the old regardless.

If things were age corrected/stratified, you'd probably see obesity much higher in the younger population that has died.

We are being played. EMT friend told me that 75% of the people he has witnessed dying from COVIDs weren't going to last longer than year under normal conditions.

Covid definitely wasnt the true cause of death. He didnt get covid until the very end of his fight. Doesnt make anything less sad

I have two of the co-morbidity. Diabetes (very well controlled) and stage IV rectal cancer.
In 2010 I was diagnosed diabetic and I was pretty obese 6’0 and around 255lbs. After diagnosis I dropped down to around 230 and all of my blood work drastically improved. In 2016 I was diagnosed with Stage IV rectal cancer and have been in chemo ever since. I am currently around 155 and got as low as 135 and yes I did look like a holocaust survivor. I know that if I were to catch COVID I have a much greater chance than a healthy individual of have a severe illness from it due to the above.
So I take as many precautions as I can but I am still living my life and do not hesitate to go out in public if necessary. Good part is that I don’t have many needs so I only have a trip or two a week to grocery stores or wherever that are necessary. I’m retired so no work to complicate things.

With all that said, I believe it is my responsibility to take precautions not everyone else. If you’re healthy and comfortable with the risk you should be able to live your life like in the pre-pandemic period. This is just one of the many things I have to do to stay as healthy as possible under the current illnesses I have.
