Per LDH Website

LDH provides one daily update each day at 12PM CT.

Pretty weak Tuesday bump.

Will the death of Mandie's political career be added to the COVID-19 death count?

Why don’t they just bump up the deaths on Sunday and Monday 20% and then figure them out on Tuesday. The Tuesday ‘political’ bump is absurd.

Our hospital hasn't had a positive test in 3 straight days - this is in St. Tammany which was was one of JBEs reasons for staying closed...

And I have a “hunch” that they’re possibly now admitting people that wouldn’t have been before since 1) there’s plenty of space and 2) there’s $$ in it.

Shame on me I know.

14 Day Averages. Part of the issue we are going to see is as the numbers get smaller, any bump will cause a rise in the 14 day averages. For example, Region 4 replaced a 7 day increase on 4/21 with 26 newly reported cases today. Region 6 replaced 3 cases on 4/21 with 11 today.

29,996 active cases
2,042 deaths
20,316 (recovered as of 5/02)

7,638 Active cases based on data provided. Enter assumptions

Recovered data is 3 days old. 14 days from 5/02 is 4/18. New cases:
4/18 - 462; 4/19 - 348; 4/20 - 595

6,233 Active cases
1,512 in Hospitals
4,721 Conservative estimate of cases not in hospitals

Obligatory: The 14 day guidelines are given by ldh and based on when the patient tests positive. The information that we have readily available is when the positive test result is known, not when the test was administered. In addition, the date of the onset of symptoms does not matter either.

Above pace for 200,000 test per month.

Where are the goal posts going to move now?

JBE next Monday- "Total deaths aren't dropping outside region 1, we can't open until there are enough voodoo witch doctor's to bring total deaths to 0."
