Over 2000 cases in 3 days.
Middle of 2nd wave. At this point a 3rd wave is looking likely.
No summer break as expected.
No vaccine.
I don’t see how we go back to normal school in the fall.

Just to clear up that number a bit, half of the 1,200 cases from 13th were from old tests being released.

No way there will be a football season. Maybe 20 years ago. But with this babified culture we have now, there will be next 0% chance we are sitting in Tiger Stadium in a little less than 3 months

Laughable that these frick heads are saying there's this "2nd wave" coming and we need to shut down a second time.
Should never have been any shut down in the first place and these numbers just keep proving we're right. Open everything the frick up. Have people fully at sports games, have concerts, open 100%, have no travel restrictions, etc. This is so beyond ridiculous and embarrassing. Instilling fear in people for no good reason at all.

Anyone in the Lafayette area have any info on Lafayette hospitals? Are they filling up due to Rona or due to surgeries that were put off?
I have a “friend” who is screaming about increases and I’m like

Has LSU released anything that says they’re working on scenarios for football season? I saw mississippi State listed four scenarios — I may have missed something from LSU?

Hospital’s are desperately trying to get as much surgery done that was put off as they can. A good bit are on fiscal years ending June 30th so trying to get as much on the books as possible now.

Does anyone know of the hospitalizations reported in the chart are specifically due to Rona? I’m guessing ..
And yes hospitals are trying to make up lost revenue and people are trying to take care of their medical needs.
This whole thing is a shitshow. And I say that as someone who knows about 50+ people who tested positive and between 15/20 dead from this virus. It’s real. It’s not good. But you can’t run or hide from it.

So the # recovered went up 3,113 in a period of 7 days. They have routinely told us that a lot of these larger numbers are from really old cases (beginning of May). I believe they attributed at least 1,200 cases to being old enough to have been fully recovered. Which means in 1 week, we've had less than 2,000 recovered.
There were 2,700 cases in the last week of May alone. It appears that recovered number is at least 1-2k short; especially, when you consider the number of cases that are asymptomatic and how low the hospitalizations have been.

Cenla hospitals are definitely increasing in covid admissions.

I’ll bet that the state numbers are improving because the New Orleans area is taking it more seriously. The state on the whole is ramping up but the biggest metropolitan area in the state is winding down because they were/are more compliant with social distancing. Covid really wasn’t a big deal case wise to the rest of the state so we are much more relaxed with masks and social distancing. When you put all of this together, the numbers on the whole look fine, but in reality, the entire state could be ramping up with New Orleans making us look pretty good.
