You're assuming testing remain constant in your chart.

Hey -- how's this? I spoke with the ADON at my facility today and was told that they're no longer requiring negative tests for NEW ADMITS. BUT they still cannot be admitted without a negative TB test. W. T. F.

Wasn't the homes decision -- either the corporate office OR CMS or whomever. Still testing weekly all residents/employees who haven't been affected already.

Yes because everyone being admitted for other diseases are being tested. When they find a positive that’s a covid hospitalization because they require isolation even though they are admitted for pancreatitis.

But the retired ER doc who was the doc at the walk in clinic in LFT who saw my daughter & tested her due to exposure (employer mandated it) said that employers shouldn't keep sending their "exposed" people over to be tested. Sigh.

Doctors aren't wrong here but the problem is the CDC recommendations recommend a negative test before returning to work. Doctors are viewing as a supply chain issue whereas employers/employees are trying to follow federal guidelines.

We are three weeks from the start of this case rise, and deaths are still declining.......

Louisiana averaged 13.85 deaths a day over the last 7 days. Up from 12.42 the previous.

I thought they changed that??

From the CDC: Recommendation: For persons recovered from COVID-19 illness, CDC recommends that isolation be maintained for at least 10 days after illness onset and at least 3 days (72 hours) after recovery. Illness onset is defined as the date symptoms begin. Recovery is defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications with progressive improvement or resolution of other symptoms. Ideally, isolation should be maintained for this full period to the extent that it is practicable under rapidly changing circumstances. While this strategy can apply to most recovered persons, either a test-based strategy (if feasible) or a symptom-based strategy with more stringent requirements may be used for recovered persons for whom there is low tolerance for post-recovery SARS-CoV-2 shedding and infectious risk because they are:

Guess we are just supposed to be cool with the numbers being manipulated like this?

If they aren't sick, and asymptomatic people don't transmit covid, why do they need to be isolated?

Sadly, it appears they updated it today- just through 6/30 instead of 7/05

That's strange.

No, im not

Im simply showing people who expect this death spike to be like the first one are fools, it has already shown its nothing like the first rise in cases

Because the cases now are far different

JBE forced these people to be tested yet the state cannot process the tests in a timely manner

In fairness, the state is not performing many tests. The tests are being almost entirely performed by private labs.

Also, I've read two different papers today that state that, because we have all been exposed to coronaviruses before, most of us can mount a strong immune response.

People on the internet make up and repeat unreliable shite all day long. Just because an anonymous poster on a chat board says it, doesn't make any of it true.

No, you are hoping it won't spike. You are using limited testing numbers against expanded testing numbers.

We are just now learning of how widespread the virus was at the peak despite testing showing much less spread.

Other factors play into a lower death rate, but your chart doesn't show that.

That's not a "fact" at this point. There's been studies that claim that as true, and others that say it's false.

Regardless of "why" someone is given a covid test, if it's a positive test it should count as such. However, breaking down those type of cases would be helpful information, but I doubt you will ever see that

No, I am postive 100% it wont spike like the first time

From majority congregate spreading in nursing homes to majority spread in the community

from median age of infection in the 60s to median age of infection in the 30s.

You acting like it isnt a given the death spike will be far lower means you have lost all of your sesnses. Unless you are now telling me you think this virus is as deadly to your common 30 year old as your common nursing home resident

Maybe the reasoning is they are basically quarantined anyway

They have no interaction with other residents
