is being life flighted to New Orleans to be placed on ECMO

Unfortunately that was the last desperate chance tried with my brother-in-law before he died of Swine Flu several years ago. He was only 23 himself. Hopefully this outcome can be different

Right. To me the most obvious way that is possible is that they are taking patients into the hospital now that they would not have taken in April because they're not severely ill enough.

I asked about this and got flipping slammed.

2 teenage brothers pneumonia. one airmed to NOLA

The odds of a healthy teenager having serious issues has to be above 1/1000.

Absent serious underlying issues the odds of both are over 1 in a million.

Odds are massive obesity or other serious pre existing issues.

People speculate that the virus is now weaker. Maybe, but that seems odd unless they mean that our immune systems are better at fighting it now.

I have a feeling that if deaths don't start increasing sharply we will hear about the virus mutation into a less deadly strain.

Through the life of this virus, deaths using start rising 7 days after cases start rising

We are three weeks from the start of this case rise, and deaths are still declining.......

Again, cases mean nothing in a vacuum.

Positive tests should be broken down into asymptomatic, mild and severe cases to mean anything.

I have some friends who are not happy about this

But the retired ER doc who was the doc at the walk in clinic in LFT who saw my daughter & tested her due to exposure (employer mandated it) said that employers shouldn't keep sending their "exposed" people over to be tested. Sigh.

"Louisiana far surpassed its June testing goals. The state had hoped to see 200,000 people tested for coronavirus last month. Instead, 385,000 people were tested, according to Gov. John Bel Edwards."

Were the parents sick previously? Saw that dad is Anesthesiologist and mom a nurse, so obviously they have a lot of exposure.

My mom told me about a guy my brother went to school with that passed, he was mid 30’s
I also saw where a friend of a friend that’s 40 is on a vent
Both were big boys, not what anyone would consider obese but just big guys

If anything positive were to come from this it needs to be how bad obesity is on your overall health from lungs to heart to knees to depression
