One thing we have learned, and learned definitively, from all of this is that the public school system does not view in-person education as an essential service.

Well, we mostly have morons making decisions about how to spend education dollars and defining what constitutes "education". These morons will always always always point to lack of funding or some other issue as the cause of problems for which they themselves are to blame.
We could educate public school students just as well, at least, while spending nowhere near the hundreds of billions we currently spend on public education, but the truth is that educating students is pretty low on the priority list for the system as a whole.

Yes. General (as opposed to specific by area) lockdowns never really made sense and just prolonged the agony.
And also needlessly caused delay in normal medical procedures which probably cost many lives in places where the disease wasn't yet really spreading.

I think we'll be ok in about a month. I think we are ok now, but I know the politicians won't admit it. I'm hopeful the numbers are so low they won't be able to pretend they don't notice them.
