Sooooo...seems like the mask mandate is working right? Numbers have dropped off the map 2 weeks from it going into effect.

I have no issue with you being skeptical of a story fwiw. I just think it’s a little much to call anyone’s prediction “hysterical” when that prediction is basically saying we are going to get more of the same.

Sence you are so positive, what is our way out of this if Trump wins and the Dems are still pissed off?

Covid cases will still be happening in decent numbers if we keep testing at the volume we are at now

I dont see how this ends really until one side just quits playing politics

Could it happen by mistake? Clerical errors are possible. A man in the Dayton-area, for example, recently said he got a letter saying he’d tested negative after signing up for a test he didn’t end up taking.
And the Mercer County Health Department said it mistakenly sent a letter instructing a man to quarantine for 10 days after he was examined, but not tested, for COVID symptoms.

But health officials say they’ve seen no credible evidence such issues are persistent or widespread.

“I got a call asking for me, and they told me that I had tested positive. I was like, ‘Positive for what?” Then, the lady said for COVID, and I said, ‘That’s impossible. I never got tested, Ma’am,’” Mindy Clark said.

Clark had gone to the drive thru testing sight at Manatee Rural Health, but before she was able to get swabbed, she left the line because she realized it was for people with symptoms only.

“I told them they needed to take this off my record, and they said I had to prove it to them that I wasn’t positive,” Clark continued.
She tested negative just two days later, and also tested negative for the antibodies

I’m sure it’s not as widespread as FB makes it but errors happen

The numbers were dropping prior to the mandate.

Honestly, now that I know your source works for the govt, everything makes so much sense

Hey, the government probably makes some mistakes or manipulates a few numbers. It's just part of an imperfect system.

*shows example of blatant manipulation*

There's no way that's true. The government doesn't manipulate data or make mistakes.

If we start shutting down large areas due to normal flu outbreaks, by all means, call me out and shame me

my main contention is this belief that if Biden wins that everything is going to suddenly go back to normal, which is just an absurd belief, but so many people have deluded themselves to it

I think each of these subsequent waves will be lesser and lesser

I do, however, believe we will be wearing masks and social distancing for the next year, whether Trump or Biden wins

If I don't feel better, can you call your friend at OPH and tell them to put me down as a positive for COVID?

of course errors happen

but this is exactly what I'm talking about

a few actual cases happen, and then all of a sudden every single person knows someone who it happened to and its this grand conspiracy

Masks are assumed to prevent transmission, which is cases.

If masks were to be effective, when should we expect to see a decrease in CASES relative to the enactment of the mandate?

Before? Immediately (same day as mandate)? 4-7 days following the mandate? Weeks following the mandate?

Keep in mind, cases are tracked by date of testing. Also, this is given what we "know" in regards to lag in the chain between exposure to infection to testing (symptom onset).

I think you take things way too literally
No one believes things will suddenly change overnight but depending on the election there will be a push to open back up or a push to keep things closed
