The gov. always quotes a higher positive rate during his updates. I've tried to follow along on here, but I still can't figure out where the higher numbers for positive % come from that he uses.

Unfortunately I think the way LDH is determining positivity rate isn't what is kept on that spreadsheet. It's very likely that a big chunk of that 30,000 number today are back dated negative tests, which makes the positive rate look very small for today but if you only isolate the tests actually taken on 8/12 it's probably a good bit higher.
However LDH is doing a shite job of providing that data publicly as we haven't seen an update since 7/31 on their dashboard

Why do you give more value to covid deaths?
Many many more young people die in car accidents than from covid. Actually more young people under 20 die from regular flu

I'll explain it...cases began decreasing before the mask mandate, which caused everything else to decrease after the mandate.

They say it is for when you actually factor in the dates of the tests and results, which I'm not even buying regardless. Don't worry about how that would have to mean there are previous days that would have to have had rates lower than reported to make up for that inflation.

First off, frick you for insinuating that we are cold hearted pricks who want to see everyone die. Nobody here is cheering on deaths.
Second, most of us understand there is only so much we can do to prevent those deaths just like we can only do so much to prevent every other form of death in the world.
Third, I have yet to catch Covid therefore I have yet to spread Covid therefore I am not responsible for 1 of these single deaths. So, again, GFY

One of the scare tactics used in JBE’s press conference yesterday was the lack of ICU beds.
Of course that talking point was very vague, and no details were provided about the 15 hospitals without ICU space.
Even the most naive would see through their B.S. if they followed it up today with a drastic drop in hospitalizations.
