So you all think it's not smart idea to proactively acquire ventilators? Not sure why that reflects bias one way or the other. Is JBE potentially fudging the numbers? Yes
We are in agreement. JBE lies to the people of the state on purpose, to cause fear and tension to get what he deems is best

100% we agree. He has done that on multiple occasions. You think the ends justify the means, others disagree that is not how politicians should conduct themselves.

Yes this post which was my posts were referring to had no political intent and was purely celebrating interventions having a positive impact and nothing to do with trying to score points against a politician

That still has nothing to do with your attempt to make that number a negative. Jesus, use your brain

Math exercise:

If there’s and average of 14 days between exposure and “needing” a vent, and a patient requires a vent for an average of 10 days for case resolution.

The new vent patients would have been exposed to the Rona on roughly March 22nd, whereas those coming off the vent (either via death or getting better) would have been exposed roughly March 12th.

A decrease in the number of vent usage would either imply:

(1) The number of new infections on March 22nd-ish is lower than March 12th-ish
(2) Treaments are more effective at keeping patients off the vent.
(3) We’ve found away to reduce the average amount of time spent on the vent

Any combination of those would be a good thing.

Yep. Using people dying and coming off the vent is an appropriate reason to dunk on Jon bel edwards!

I am happy numbers are improved from projections I would hope he is. He’d be a bastard covered bastard if he isn’t. I think it’s important to remember individuals humanity in some of this particularly when scoring political points

Why did you try and make vent usage decreasing a negative?

I know the deaths in Caddo have been lagging behind all week. I think they are just now up to date.

Because 68 people who were on vents died and they were replaced by 64 people now fighting for their life on the vent? Sure it’s better than 68 more people going on the vent I guess but to me it takes a pretty jaded person for the response to that and say “Booyah in your face Jon Bel”

I mean it’s just a fact the vent numbers are positive. Not sure why you keep trying to make that a negative

John Bel can earn my respect by simply giving factual information and not purposefully projecting data he knows to be fabricated

That simple

It is pretty easy to get jaded with all the fear mongering that is currently going on

You realize that there is more than one way to free up a ventilator, right?

This is a bad assumption that 100% of people that die are on vents. They are routinely finding people dead at home or other places. I don't have a clue what the number is, but its not 100% by any means.

True, but there's a big area between doing nothing and what's been done.

Since we have no idea when and how the latest deaths occurred isn’t it impossible to say the reduction in deaths is why the reduction in vents?

Where in the hell do you see that 68 that were on a vent died??? I see no where that that is said .. it is KNOWN that not many come off of a vent BUT it DOES INDEED happen. I know of one personally and two that I've seen interviews with on tv. NOT EVERYONE on a vent will die. To assume that all 68 that died were on a vent is incorrect.
