And I'm surprised that today was the lowest number of new test done in almost two weeks. Hopefully that's a good sign and not because of a lack of testing
The turnaround on tests is 9 days. Docs are going back to just telling healthy people to simply stay home and not get tested because that wait time is useless anyway.

Seems like we have plenty of ventilators and beds still available.

JBE said we would be out of everything by the 6th

We have bent the curve when it comes to hospitalizations and ventilation.

Is it social distancing or Trump pills or both?

Also while cases could be from a back log, how real time do you think that hospitalizations, vents and death numbers are? Truly since yesterday numbers at noon?

I think it's just yesterday, period.

And yesterday's numbers were from what was reported Wednesday, etc.

Noon is just so yesterday's number can be compiled and released.

The jump in deaths is concerning, though.

Deaths are still falling well within the projected range.

Todays projection was a range of 355-425 with a median projection of 394.

these deaths likely occurred since the weekend and they are just getting the results back and/or cause of death. It doesnt mean that many people actually died in the past 24 hours.

his point is, how much time between when the data was compiled and when it was reflected on the report.
For example, did 60 people die between yesterday's report and today's? Most likely not.

SO do we or rather does anyone "up there" at the state level have ANY CLUE how many tests are still "pending"?

I mean if a record is kept of how many are administered and a record of how many have come back, they can calculate how many are pending. BUT is anyone doing that? Can it even be done?

dukke go to the website that is linked in a reply to your question .. at the bottom are tabs that show vents/beds/info by parish.

I'm sure there is some lag there.

I assume that hospitals are reporting to parish officials which are reporting to the state.

And the hospitals all have their procedures for deaths and reporting the cause.

I know where I am, the county health department numbers are posted at 11 and then the state is 2 hours later. I have no idea when hospitals report to the county.

Deaths are probably the closest to temporally correct. I would guess the vast majority of those deaths occurred yesterday.

Somebody who has been tracking this needs to have a doom and gloom chart versus actual numbers to shove it up Honor Code’s arse when this all said and done.

how do you know the difference between the two isn't because of the measures being implemented?

People died 4 days ago that haven't gotten their test results back yet..so unless they test positive they arent counted.

Surely some occurred yesterday but not 60

He can't.

Like Fauci said: if the measures work, it will look like we overreacted.

That's the goal.
