Creating bed space is pretty simple. Getting more ventilators is a little more tricky but doable. But whose going to render the care?

Doctors and med staff are flowing into the city in huge numbers.

we just put our condo in the Warehouse District on the rental market and have have been getting calls from agents the past 2 days.

Travel nurses, overtime, adjusted ratios

I can tell you that the medical system administrators biggest concern in NOLA is lack of doctors for increased capacity.

Dallas is ramping up and reorganizing to try to handle a massive influx of DFW area China flu patients.

there isn't a lack of doctors or medical personnel in this state

They will start making their way to area that needs them the most

Well aware of that one. The price keeps getting better to attract more as well. I haven't heard many claim they are being overworked yet.

I think I am going to lose one of my guys back to nursing temporarily. Kind of works because we cant pay him OT right now and the money sounds really good.

PeeJ, you need to get out more. It’s not a rental but we are willing to rent it out to the right person considering the situation.

Trust me, you can’t afford it.

There’s a thread this morning about hospital workers getting furloughed.

I wouldn't live there if you have it to me for free. I do have my standards.

You live in a trailer park in Livingston Parish.

You don’t have any standards.

Yes but in all fairness, if it's a floor nurse idk that they can cross to icu, or if it's a med tech they can't provide nursing care, etc. By no means trying to argue just trying to stay real.

So back to vents/beds (for region 1): if testing in NOLA has slowed (which I think is what I read), that may mean admissions will fall which could mean less chance of needing a vent. No?

Anyone with knowledge have a hypothesis as to why the hospitalization and ventilator numbers seem to be coming down?

I would imagine there is a coronation between the number of deaths and number of people on vents. If 50 people die, that’s likely 50 less people in the hospital or on ventilators. Maybe not a number for number correlation, but some correlation.

If you are talking about Louisiana neither the hospitalization numbers nor the ventilator numbers are coming down. It's a steady rise.

Are the vent numbers total vents being used?i.e. with deaths the vent numbers will start to plateau? Or a summation of total pts that have needed ventilators?

Here is a state-wide look at the current capacity of hospitals. This includes all patients, not just COVID.

Would like to see those numbers pre-COVID to see what our normal occupancy/usage rates are
