Any word on if the if the hospitals that are testing in-house (OLOL, Oschner) are reporting negatives to the state? Or is just the Quest-like companies and the state lab?

When the numbers flesh out and we have an accurate account of death percentages, age, comorbidities, etc., we will have a clearer picture. I’m not arguing that everyone who is being proactive isn’t helping to some degree, but I’m going to sure as hell ask if the juice was worth the squeeze when this is all said and done.

Okay then tell me Mr. Knowitall. At what point do we go back? Because with it being that highly contagious, maybe we should wait until not one single person has it.
But lets think that through rationally. If we continue to flatten the curve, and say there are only 10,000 new cases a day, it would take 460 more days for everyone in Louisiana to catch it. At least we can hope by then we will have a cure.

My gut tells me a lot of these tests are old. I just find it hard to believe that we're seeing 40%+ positive rates with the massive increase in testing capacity.

same here. Start getting those on vents healthy and freeing up room while quarantining slows new cases.
Hopefully we are building stronger immunity to this thing as well. I heard nurses have taken to calling it "The Beast".

Terrebonne Parish alone reported 7 deaths that happened during the previous 8 days since yesterday's update. I'm sure they aren't the only parish that did so

I was just asking the opposite of the question you posed to show that we can’t answer this right now in either direction.
The out of beds, out of vents by such and such dates are going to be pretty easy to track and he’s been way off on those already.
The effects of the stay at home orders will only start to be felt in the next week or two on hospitalizations and vents, and while I think his measures have probably helped in those regards. What I disagree with are his scaring of people with his rhetoric and the shutting down business as early as he did. I honestly believe this is political grandstanding at it’s finest with his eye on politics and getting federal money while putting certain desires before the greater good of the people of this state.
