A lot more cases, but everything else looks steady to improved.

Looks like it ... there were 34 reported yesterday so increase in the daily "rate" of 3. None are good obviously but it's not doubling.

Wait, I thought there was supposed to be a BIG influx in tests coming back. That's not even the highest daily testing number.

Death numbers staying low is a big deal.
It is the 2nd largest death total of any day so far.

This was to be expected. And will be for the next week or so. These are almost all people who got corona at its peak spread but pre-preventative measures. Right around St Patrick’s day weekend. The virus had almost a month post Mardi Gras to spread undetected.
Five days for the virus to incubate, plus 5-7 for symptoms to worsen enough for testing, plus 5-7 for tests to return. Panic if the numbers are still this high in a week or two

So despite the substantial increase in the number of cases due to a backlog in testing, the number of deaths has not substantially increased. Isn't that good news?

I’m gonna go ahead and say that death rate isn’t too accurate considering the tests have been pretty restricted to only people that have a fever and show like all of the symptoms. Actual denominator is very likely way higher since we don’t really have an accurate number on people that had it with minor/no real symptoms...

I would think so. Our death rate is finally under 4%. It's 3.39% right now.

Didn't see it commented on yet but the new numbers list 507 patients on ventilator. I would imagine 80-90% of those people will pass in the next few days to a week.
