Correct. We could very well be seeing positive cases added to the total that are almost done with the virus.

Doesn't show up. He died with covid, not because of it.
Probably depends on how the autopsy classifies it though.

They already included him in their numbers. I saw it on the LDH website while they were still putting out all the ages.
The update on the 26th still has the 17 YO listed with the rest of the deaths.

They are several days behind on deaths. Currently showing 1 death in Lafayette parish, which I know for fact is wrong.

That seems consistent and comparable though. I doubt any country or state or county/parish has been reporting real time deaths.

I am part of this. I tested positive for Covid-19.
Pretty sure I got it from my wife, and doctor thinks our 8 month old had it as well. All are doing fine now.
Also, it took me almost a week to get the test back, and even when I went to take it I already felt better. Felt like I had a bad cold and lower back pain. My 2 weeks really ends today but I am staying out of the office for another week.

There also seems to be a lag on reporting positive cases unless LDH is counting nursing home differently. A relative of mine lives in Pointe Coupee. He pointed out that they have a nursing home listed for having 2 or more cases. However, Pointe Coupee only shows 2 cases total on the LDH site. There should be at least 4. Pointe Coupee definitely has two cases outside the nursing home and the two (or more) inside of it.

I've always felt that was 1 of the more important factors the media/officials don't discuss.
In the past 2 days we have seen the % positive drop from 15% to 8.3%, then down to 7.9%. But, they will only focus on the 710 combined new cases & 48 combined new reported deaths over the past 2 days

No! Meaningless stat. The more tests you administer the lower will be the percentage of positives. If you have limited tests you give them to the most obvious cases. The next batch of tests go to a less obvious group, etc.
Keep your eyes on hospitalization and deaths. Number of new cases is a decent stat, but it's heavily dependent on testing. This stat will get more reliable as testing increases.

I interpret that as turbidity. Those that die as well as those that improve get off the vents. My information is that more are improving than dying, which is good. We aren’t overwhelmed at this point, which is also good.

You still have to hit certain qualifiers in order to be allowed to test. The percentage of positives is still an important stay, and probably more so than the quantitative numbers. Because, as you test more people, you will ultimately have more positive results.
