I gotcha, I was just wondering if after someone dies or recovers or at least has proof of recovery, if they drop them from the statistics. Like someone testing positive, after a week or so feeling better, and if they went back and tested, and it was negative, situations like that.

There is a lag. Nobody knows how far back, but it's like tests taken 2-7 days ago.

I do not believe we have reached that point yet. I believe they are simply just stacking onto the total each day.

It took them over two weeks just to tell us how many were hospitalized.

This is unfortunately correct. We will likely continue to see positive tests added to the cases total taken from people who are almost recovered. Until we begin to see widespread same day or next day tests, there will be a significant lag.

My understanding is last Sunday they changed the reporting schedule and it was truly only a half day. It was pointed out by someone yesterday.

Because its worthless.
The only hard numbers you would get would be hospital discharges. They are not following up and testing confirmed positives 14-21 days later to confirm a recovery.

Im just glad to see us finally fall behind Italy in the death column. Tomorrow Italy would made a hugr jump of about 130. Louisiana may add on about 20-30 i predict and we can finally throw the comparison chart away for good.

It's because the labs aren't working at full capacity on those days.
Look at the number of tests run on those days. Last Sunday they released 196 test results. Yesterday it was 2710, but it was a thousand less than Friday.
Pay attention to the % positives. That is trending in the right direction.

I have wondered about the timing of the test results, as well, in looking at the numbers. If some results take days to receive, then the number of cases increasing isn't really accurate. Those folks could be over it.
