Makes you wonder about all of the asterisk lawyers who were not required to take the bar because of the stupidest muh covid decision ever.

Wait…they never asked them to take the Bar since then?

Man what is the cost to go to law school these days? I know LSU and SU will be cheaper than Tulane and Loyola but it’s gotta be $$$ to go to any of them these days right? Are Tulane and Loyola over 200k for three years now?

Southern's part time program is historically higher than their full time program. IDK if they report them together.

Southern would never let those scores be bifurcated

I haven’t looked in a couple of years, but the CPA pass rate for Southern was historically in the low teens… and some years was in single digits.

And this is even after they made the exam easier. National pass rate is around 45%.

So first time takers out performed those who’ve failed before?

If a test is reliable, people who fail will tend to keep failing. For example, you shouldn’t be able to improve your IQ score by retaking the test.

And like someone said, people do the same stuff over and over. Those who get divorced once are at higher risk to do it again. If a teen gets pregnant, she is much more likely than others to get knocked up again. Fail the bar once, you’ll likely do it again unless major changes are made in your preparation.

It's been a few years since I've seen updated info, but from what I recall, they had a graduation rate under 5%.

About 5 years ago, they built a new fancy, $10.2m building for social work majors. Southern + social work is a hell of a duo, and that was most likely money well spent.

They end up usually failing it because they didn't learn any civil law.

I don't know. I studied in CA and took the CA bar. Took the Louisiana bar the next go round and just studied BarBri books while working. Wasn't easy but doable to learn all the Civil law stuff through bar review.

Meh, they bring in large numbers of kids who probably shouldn't be in law school. If the kids are signing up, whose to fault them?

They really need to start more bar prep shite from 1L though.

They also have a lot of part time students.

Thought this thread was about a different kind of bar.
