The amount of people that flee to Houston area for this reason is astounding. It’s sad honestly because if the economic opportunities were there, most of these people wouldn’t leave the state myself included.

We can deal with poorly managed government if the economy makes up for it. Sadly these two typically go hand in hand.

I appreciate that there are roads that allow me to pass through Louisiana.

Thank you Louisiana for the fricked up car and homeowners insurance rates. I continue to N E V E R
re-elect any state representative or govenor because of this very reason. Someone must change our legal laws and someone must make the Insurance commissioner do his job.

Love the friendly people and all the outdoor opportunities and sports in the state. Some beautiful rivers/bayous/streams here. I will never understand the hate so many of the natives have for the place.

Could not agree more! The most unique state with the most unique people.

I miss the food so much!

We have our own unique culture. For better or worse, there's nowhere in the world quite like south Louisiana.

Thanksgiving to St Patrick's Day is one long rolling series of parties, galas, balls and get togethers in outstanding weather. Then the Spring festivals hit. After that, you slog through a brutal summer. Then tailgating season begins in September and you roll right through again.

I’ve honestly never seen any other state have this many people absolutely hate on their home state.

Especially a state that is beloved by so many non natives. People from all over the country love them some Louisiana. That’s why there’s so many TV shows set in the state.

The people are awesome. You go to all the corners of the state and you’re met with kindness and a plate/drink.

This more applies to New Orleans, but could apply to the State in general:

The best and worst thing is the same - no one really gives a frick.

Fall in Louisiana is elite. From about the second weekend of November to right about Christmas time, it’s so nice. Then it gets cool and gets real nice again from mid February to about mid April. Real nice.

Who would generally not mind live in an area with bad roads, high(er) crime, bad education, crooked politics, and trash all over?

For those people, life is great, and I’m sure they love living in Louisiana.
