JPEG NFTs are stupid, but the technology is useful for many other things.

It is one thing to ride a wave and sell a bunch of photographs that prior to the NFT craze had minimal value. It is an entirely different thing when you start speculating on real value.
IMO it’s the same as art.
Why is my art worth less than Hunter Biden? What value does a painting from a crackhead actually have and how will it hold that value?

It's a shame the term NFT is so tainted by the JPEG craze.. NFTs bring proof of ownership and validity to things and cut out middlemen the same way cryptocurrency cuts out the middlemen for money.
JPEGs were the first big deal with them but it's one small use case. Music will be another. In the future we'll likely have NFTs to represent ownership for important documents too, and won't really have a need for notaries and witnesses for marriage, mortgages or titles, for example
This was always my take too. Art market on steroids because most of the NFT are projects were accessible in price to more people at mint.

Fanatics sells it’s 60% stake in NFT company Candy Digital. CEO wrote "Over the past year, it has become clear that NFTs are unlikely to be sustainable or profitable as a standalone business” in the internal email.
I wonder how the sucker who bought their stake feels today after reading this.

It just never made sense to me. Why pay for something I can just screenshot and save in a folder?
This is the way it was explained to me. Imagine owning and having the real Mona Lisa hanging in your house versus having an exact replica of the Mona Lisa hanging in your house.
The problem is every dumb frick thought they were buying the real Mona Lisa when they bought an NFT.

You make good efforts in these threads but this is a harder topic to explain over just regular crypto, which is practically impossible to explain to the masses on here

Ahhh the masses on here could never grasp the nuances of your Punks huh Jonsey...

What? There's nothing nuanced about nfts or crypto in which hulk was talking about

Here is me a year ago saying theyre going to be worthless
You linked the one post where you hedged in a thread you mostly argued for the value of nfts.

And the Solana value of them hasn't changed and has gone up in some of them.

I FOMO’ed into some shitcoins once and it was a very valuable lesson. Sure, someone somewhere at some point got rich on this bullshite, but it’s not going to be you. I don’t care how much you “do your own research.” I’d rather sit at a blackjack table.
