…for my 10 month old. Moving to Lafayette this summer and need to start calling.

Any recommendations or ones I should stay away from?

Does the area of Lafayette matter?

We haven’t figured out where we are going to live yet, so no, the area doesn’t matter right now.

Little Blessings is a good one I hear. A-Bear’s is another.

Both are inside the city limits.

I second Little Blessings, but I would do my best to find an in-home daycare.

Creative Minds in Youngsville. Sent my son there and he learned a lot. My daughter was there until we moved to Florida. Great teachers and staff. Never closed during Covid (outside of the first few months when everything was closed)

Guchereau And fishers only take 2 yr old and up. Both of ours are there and they’re great.

Check into principals list

We sent ours to an in-home sitter that we knew and trusted very well. $500 month for my two kids.

Katy-Anna daycare on Rue Louis if you're on the southside. Very little turnover of employees. The manager has been there 20+ years.

Seconded.

My wife reached out to the alumni association of her former sorority at LSU. We had about 20 girls contact us and they have a group chat in case one is ever not available for a substitute. We found 2 girls we really like and they’ve basically become like family. Plus we haven’t had to cart the kids around.

that's why they have 2 parents. best case scenario for a kid is in the home with one parent until kindergarten.

Look into Play & Learn in Scott. Both my kids go there and we absolutely love it as do they.

My little girl went to gifted for 2 years before moving on to her school. They have a couple locations and never had any issues with them. Since we took her out at the end of last summer, there’s been some pretty bad rumors about things going on there though. We will be sending her to fishers over summer break.

Gotta be careful with in home sitters if it isn’t someone you know and trust. We had a nightmare experience with ours…. She was a shitty human and sucked at life in general. For the sake of your kids and your sanity, Stay away from an in home sitter with the name Rachel.
