Longest you've been stuck at the airport?

It's nice weather outside, but apparently I'm flying in a POS plane. We have been here for 8 hours and the end in site keeps getting moved back. Looking like 12 hrs or so.

My mom was just stuck in Billing, MT for 3 days. They kept canceling her flight out and there's only 2 per day. Luckily they put her up in a hotel at night.

Got stuck at IAH for 8 hours because the pilot dicked around at the gate for 45 mins in BTR.

Plenty of delays, but the longest I have stayed in the terminal without leaving for a hotel is 10ish hours in Memphis

I've been stuck in Memphis for about 7 hours, ATL for 6ish and Houston for about 10. All during the summer.

10 hours in the airport. Thankfully they had a Centurion Lounge.

11 hour delay at O’Hare one time. At least the nearby bartenders were personable.
I felt worse for the people landing that had to sit in the plane on the tarmac for several hours due to weather conditions not allowing them to come to the gate.

I got stuck on a runway 4 hours and then I had a 12 hour flight. That was fricking miserable

Used to sleep under the Christmas tree at San Diego airport when coming home for Christmas. USO wasn't 24 hours and I didn't feel like paying for parking. I think I did it twice.

3 hrs on the tarmac, finally let us out, dicked us around for another 5 hrs while waiting in the terminal then cancelled the flight. My colleague who I was traveling with was leaving on vacation the next morning with his family so we finally said F-it and rented a car and drove from IAH to Pensacola which is another 8hrs.

Was stationed in California between San Diego and LA. Flew out of San Diego and had a connection in LA for some reason. Apparently that was the day whatever airline we were flying decided to have their whole system crash. We waited on the runway after landing in LA for around an hour. Got off, rushed to our connecting flight only to find the plane was still there at the gate, but they "closed the doors" so we couldn't board. We were in essence stuck at an airport that was only an hour away from our home and talked our way into having the airline pay for a hotel room that was an hour away from our house.

9 months. During the flight my country of citizenship had a coup and was no longer legally recognized.

Never been delayed at an airport more than 2-3 hours past my original itinerary.

I waited on a float plane pickup in Alaska for 8 hrs after we got bumped by the flying service owner. We had to sit and wait on the river until cloud cover cleared enough to fly.
