Lol: Elon now making Twitter employees pay for their extravagant lunches

Ohhh, now he’s starving them by making them pay for lunch. They only make on average like $186,000 dollars a year. How can they ever afford it? I guess they can learn to cook? A reminder on how these spoiled brats (and almost now certainly fired) Twitter employees used live to: Twitter
EDIT: Elon hilariously responds to the brats bitching:
Especially bizarre given that almost no one came to the office. Estimated cost per lunch served in past 12 months is >$400.

The only thing I don't get is why he didn't get rid of the perks and WFH first so people would quit, instead of paying out severance packages first.

Amazing how sheltered you must be to get lavish pay and perks while your company is hemorrhaging money. No wonder they’re political, social and economic idiots

Sometimes I do laugh at these sort of things… but I work from home and anytime I come into the corporate office or travel for work, I use the company card for lunch, so I can’t knock it too hard.
That being said, if my boss told me not to, I wouldn’t bitch about it.
And I have never spent more than $40 on myself for a meal on the company dime. He’s saying one lunch was 10x that. My boss has been with me and we lived it up but I’d be scared as hell to have some $75 charge for one meal pop up without some explanation.

What would your boss do if you did a $400 lunch without a client?

These are the people who think *YOU* don't understand *YOUR PRIVILEGE*.

Oh, the horror! Twitter sounds like it was just one big day care center for (supposed) adults.

One customer from one client? there would be issues.
Taking out the entire team, nah. I had a 4 day project with a customer and provided breakfast and lunch for a 4 man team that was stuck in a network closet with me for 3 of those days and we didn’t clear $400 total.
That being said, my clientele is K12 education. They’ll have some drinks but we don’t get our customers drunk as a company policy and usually their district’s policy.

So Twitter pre Elon was like that business Tom and Jean Ralfio ran in parks and Rec?

Oh yeah, the team that’s fine, but $50 a person is more reasonable than $400 that these brats received. $50 a person is what a good organization that expects you to earn it. There’s no way a daily lunch should cost $400.

Because he rightly knew the threat of quitting was just bluster.

Do you understand where the $400 number is coming from?

My understanding is that this was per person. If it were $400 to feed all of them, then sure Elon should eat that cost. Look at that video I sent. They are eating absolutely extravagantly. They can go frick themselves and this brings me great joy.

I don’t know, but I’d guess it comes from taking the amount of money Twitter spends on its cafeteria and dividing it by the number of lunches served. Is that not the case?

It's the total cost of their cafeteria operations divided by the number of lunches actually served. They aren't serving people lunches that you would actually pay $400 for.
And Elon is much kinder than I am. At least he's still giving an in house lunch option. I would just shut the entire cafeteria down.

Probably: total costs of lunch / number of employees who ate lunch.
Remember, there's an overheard for the kitchen. Salaries, ingredients, all the excess food thrown away because nobody ordered it, etc.

Twitter sounds like an awesome place to have worked at…
But, this is the OT after all. Y’all would rather opt for being a coal miner, carrying a plain bologna sandwich in a lunch pale to work, and contracting black lung.
