Ohhh, now he’s starving them by making them pay for lunch. They only make on average like $186,000 dollars a year. How can they ever afford it? I guess they can learn to cook? A reminder on how these spoiled brats (and almost now certainly fired) Twitter employees used live: Twitter
If the reports of the high costs of living out there are true, they aren't living high on the hog at $186k.
Regardless, they should pay for their own meals during a regular workday.

A lot of companies with campuses cover this costs because it keeps employees on campus and increases productivity. Basically changes the thought of employees to live at work instead of coming to work and going home.
Freeport Mcmoran used to have some sort of system like this at their office in downtown NOLA. Not sure who was included on the free or reduced lunches, but they would just flash their badges and walk out with their lunches.
If the cost was really $400/meal then you would think something can probably be reworked.

That woman is annoying as frick, whoever made that. I hope she lost her job.
I feel like this group of progressives were resting on their laurels. Just were so pleased with their environment that they forgot they were still battling capitalists.

But, this is the OT after all. Y’all would rather opt for being a coal miner, carrying a plain bologna sandwich in a lunch pale to work, and contracting black lung.
Don’t give yourself too big of a trophy for that straw man you created

If he served Chick-fil-a their heads would explode.

Twitter sounds like an awesome place to have worked at…
Yeah, if you’re a Woke spoiled entitled little brat who had bulldozer parents and just want to be a worthless piece of shite. It’d be a blast having the likes of nothing but Taylor Lorenzs and Carlos Mazas as your pussy colleagues. How about unless I can fire all these assholes like Elon is doing, frick that.
You’d have to give me 300K a year to work for Twitter and live in San Francisco. I’m in SF every three months for business, and no way you could get me to live there without an extreme amount of cash.

Literally one of the reasons some are bitching about having to go back into the office.
The execs are HQ'd in a place that is high as giraffe pussy then don't get that the worker bees can't afford it.

That’s absurd for anyone to expect that type lunch everyday for free

Be interesting if we see other internet company execs follow suit: back in the office , less perks, etc .

So Twitter pre Elon was like that business Tom and Jean Ralfio ran in parks and Rec?

Is this not the thread where we had a small conversation about the cost per person? I think I may be actively losing my mind.

When I was a wage slave half the fun was competing with other companies for business. We were all closely tied to our P&L and all dialed in to making the bottom line grow. Very little waste, we could have flied first class, but we didn't. Generous bonuses made everyone vested.
One time the home office wanted us to buy new office furniture, when we found out it came out of our bottom line, we nixed that deal. I they day I got a promotion to another subsidiary it was bittersweet.
Musk will bring the Twitter to another level, I've read a lot about how he manages people, there is a reason he is so wealthy, he's smart.

I would tell them that the TP in restrooms will be replaced by that cheap single ply TP.

The only thing I don't get is why he didn't get rid of the perks and WFH first so people would quit, instead of paying out severance packages first.
Because the fragile wokesters would have instead gone scorched earth to ruin the company before quitting

Imagine how fun it is to teach entitled Communists about Capitalism. Profit ? Efficiency? What’s that?

I would just shut the entire cafeteria down.
Buy a couple of used refrigerators, and some bottom of the line microwave ovens to fill one side of the cafeteria. That would get their attention IF they knew the use for either.

The human phenomenon is some folks will figure it out as soon as someone above them starts saying it.
You fire the problems, then you let the ones who can't take the culture shock take care of themselves. Then you reassess.

There’s no way a daily lunch should cost $400.
Where do even eat lunch that costs 400? I’ve never had a meal cost 400 for myself alone and I’ve eaten at some really high end restaurants. Were they ordering 150 dollar glasses of wine?

Probably: total costs of lunch / number of employees who ate lunch. Remember, there's an overheard for the kitchen. Salaries, ingredients, all the excess food thrown away because nobody ordered it, etc.
That makes sense. And if they’ve been working from home mostly then there’s a ton of waste
