A good friend of mine in college has lived in the Saginaw area outside of Fort Worth for many years. He used to like it. But he and his family have grown tired of it.

I thought the Bedford area was nice, but lived there in the mid 90s. I think the area North of Fort Worth offers some different choices. The traffic isn't as bad as Dallas.

Sounds like Bedford has gone downhill since the mid 90s.

FW is great. Love going over there.

People forget how big of a city it is. It’s about to pass 1 million and it’s a little bigger than Austin city limit.

DFW metro is about to hit 8.5M and will overtake Chicago as the 3rd biggest media market by 2030

You said maybe live 30 minutes away so look at Denton. It's 40 minutes away with average traffic but Denton has its own Courthouse Square area that is full of bars and restaurants. My Parents have lived in Denton for 30 years and love it.

How is the cost of living there?

Turning point baby, NE IPAs are my jam.

I've lived about 30 miles nw of fort worth for 5 years now. We're about 30 minutes from downtown, grapevine/Southlake and Denton. It's the last bastion of true "fort worth" and unfortunately, expansion in the area. There's probably 10,000 homes being built around us in the next 5 years. So that kinda sucks. But overall I love the area, my neighborhood and my neighbors.

Lower than Dallas. We were going to sell my Mom's house last month after my Dad passed away so I educated myself on the market up there. You can get a 3br 2bath house in my Mom's neighborhood, which has great schools, for $400k. In Dallas that house would be 700k.

Our eldest and her family reside in Keller and enjoy their lifestyle - I doubt they relocate anytime soon. I have done city life - not my cup of tea - but have always enjoyed Fort Worth, business and pleasure. Migration is also to the north and where I would settle if I had to, not going anywhere, just saying.

Decatur? I’ve worked up there and the area seems… sparse. If you’re looking for space a reasonable distance from Fort Worth then it’s probably an affordable option.

Hope you have $$$$$

That is probably my favorite suburb of DFW. We looked at moving there but commute was just too much compared to were we are now

What do you consider a big city? Ft worth has almost a million people.

I moved last year to DFW. Check out HEB, Colleyville, Southlake and Grapevine. It’s super convenient to get to either Ft Worth or Dallas, close to the airport and the property is just going to keep going up.

FW has a lot of nice areas and its a somewhat chill lifestyle compared to the Dallas side. Basically is all comes down to what you are looking for and your preferred lifestyle choice. You can live in the city and have all the conveniences of city life or you can live on the outside with quiet peace and then drive into the city for entertainment.

The area south of fort worth off chisolm parkway heading to Cleburne is going to be a good area to be in a few years. The area around Justin north of FW is nice and centrally located bewtween FW and Denton. Out west towards Weatherford has lots of nice areas. down 377 to Grandbury is nice.

If it were me though, I'd be looking at the areas west of Austin and NW of San Antonio out to the hill country.

Just depends on what lifestyle you desire.

What is Bedford or any other city supposed to have that it does not have? Its a suburb of other large cities its 15 - 20 minutes to FW, dallas, Arlington stadiums, etc. Its not going to compete with other areas but its a great homestead location that is 1 minute to a highway to get you somehewere else.
