Such a sad story. I get that she had some post partum crazy but you gotta go to jail if you kill kids. It's just that simple.

I watched the closing arguments. If that wicked women does not get convicted on 1st degree murder it is a travesty of justice. I'm really curious to see the makeup of the jury

Fun fact: She was never diagnosed with any PPD. That was literally made up by her and her defense attorney.

Also, the voices she allegedly heard were only for those 18 minutes. Never before and never since. She also took a phone call from her husband during those 18 minutes so the voice must have been polite and let her have a conversation.

She lied about all of it.

I'm also a darn good driver, but if I load myself with liquor and drive my family into a semi, killing them all, can I say it was the alcohol that did it and not me?

I fricking swear, the audacity of the people backing this woman blows my mind.

I haven't followed it super close, because it's a really awful story. Is there any other motive? The PP crazies seems to fit.

I’d say we just need rope and a fairly tall tree.

Do we know the make up of the jury?

I'm concerned there's going to be someone on there that sympathizes with the PPD excuse that fricks the whole thing up

I haven't followed it outside of reading social media. Her defense said she is bipolar and blamed the drugs

quote:

The Defense View (Undiagnosed Bipolar & Psychosis): Her defense attorneys argue she did not just have PPD. They claim she had undiagnosed Bipolar 2 disorder. They assert that treating her with a heavy cocktail of standard PPD antidepressants (like Zoloft) actually triggered a catastrophic postpartum psychosis, which went entirely unrecognized by her doctors

She was only being treated for postpartum anxiety and severe insomnia. Not full on PPD apparently and was never diagnosed with PPD.

quote:

The Prosecution View (Retrospective Major Depression): While the state's medical experts reject the idea that she was experiencing psychosis, they also did not settle on standard PPD. Instead, their forensic expert testified that, looking back at her symptoms, she was actually suffering from a Major Depressive Episode at the time of the events
