Lots of men do look like emotionally stunted morons responding to women looking like rationally stunted political board posters.
This is your classic case of internet factions taking sides and sprinting towards the poles to ensure ideological purity within the in-group.
Just watch. Trying to use any nuance to stop the polar shift will be met with labeling that person as an out-group apostate
There is no need to take a polar position of irrational bad takes to call Lindsay Clancy an evil person

You'd have a point if this wasn't true.
The existence of anti-abortion women supporters of Clancy means that there are no women desensitized to killing by decades of abortion.
Got it.

Her defense is more of demonic possession than clinical psychosis. A demon possessed her and commanded her to kill her children and then herself. Most people don't believe in demonic possession, so I don't know how she will be successful with this defense.
But you must believe that either she is a demon or that she was possessed by a demon given the story she has told. How will the legal system process this? I predict a hung jury.

Well THAT is a nice re-framing/pivot

If these women actually believed the husband killed the kids and then tried to kill her, they'd all be trying to frick him.

I feel like everything turns into this now, it's so exhausting. No one can appreciate or understand nuance anymore. More than 1 thing can be true.
She killed her children. Whatever role postpartum mental illness played, she is the person who strangled them to death, and that fact should not be minimized or buried beneath sympathy for her. Her children were the victims, and they should remain at the center of this tragedy.
Postpartum mental illness is real, serious, and deserves far more awareness and effective treatment. We can acknowledge that without turning it into an excuse for murdering children. Mental illness can be relevant to understanding how something happened without making the act acceptable, absolving responsibility, or transforming the person who committed it into someone who should be celebrated.
The people around her tried to get her the help they understood she needed. What happened afterward is horrific beyond words. It's tragic that she was suffering, but the far greater tragedy is that her children lost their lives at their mother's hands.
We should be capable of holding both truths at once: postpartum mental illness can be devastating and deserves serious attention, and killing your children is an abhorrent act for which the person who committed it should be held accountable to the highest degree possible.

My FB is filled with lots of MAGA gals who have HAD ENOUGH of the fake hate crimes like Karmelo and Nolan Wells who have posted at length how they think Patrick killed the kids and gaslit Lindsay into thinking she did it.
I'm glad you shared this. I'm stunned and quite confused. I had no idea that so many of our fellow Americans are capable of such irrational and absurd thinking while remaining steadfast in their position that they are engaging in sound thinking.

I think the point is to bring up the postpartum psychosis issue + failure of the medical system to get her proper treatment instead of just throwing a library of medicines at her.
In no way is this a failure of the medical system, unless you're arguing that uncooperative patients like her should be able to be committed much more easily. She went doctor shopping, didn't take her medicine as prescribed, and was waited on hand and foot. Her husband hired a nanny, people offered to watch the kids to give her a break, doctors were responding to her frequently through the online portal. At some point your only logical conclusions are that people like Lindsay should be A. involuntarily committed because she's having a psychotic break (which women don't want because you're trampling her rights!) or B. held accountable because she has knowingly exhausted her support and it led to the killings of her children (which women don't want because she wasn't in her right mind! See: option A)
Also welcome back SFP

I’ll add Clames to the list of sensitive Susans like DarthVader who have such fragile egos that they want people banned. You’re free to ignore posts or posters that you don’t like, you dumb twat.

I think trying to accuse the husband of murder is absolutely idiotic. I also think this case sheds light on something real that can happen to women post partum. It’s rare. It happens. Look at Andrea Yates. I think she should be institutionalized for the rest of her life but I think where the empathy arises is she wasn’t always this way, she lost it after the third child and that part is sad. What’s also sad is all the times she told her family (parents husband) that she had thoughts of hurting the children and yet she’s still trusted to be left alone with the children. Maybe it’s a case of simply not understanding the pathology but a person in psychosis is terrifying and unpredictable. Hind sight is 20/20 of course but she should never have been left alone with them. That doesn’t take the blame off of her. She admitted to killing them. She should be locked away.

The logical response to “the system is broken” narrative here is that any woman claiming PPD or really any major depressive disorder should not be allowed custody of her kids until we “fix the system.” These women don’t want to discuss the true ramifications of what they’re defending.

This is the main problem people don't think if when saying we need more asylums.
It still takes a judge to put someone there against their will.

And she should be remitted to a secured mental institution for the rest of her life without the possibility of parole/release.
Hell no she shouldn't.
The moment the public coverage dies down she'll get released by some feminist judge who doesnt think she did anything wrong in the first place.

It's a very tough case and perfectly illustrates how even the best legal system cannot always serve as a great tool to deal with a society's criminal justice problems.
The prosecution and defese, as far as I can tell, are presenting legitimate opposing views and arguments.
However, this group of people who are telling the whole world that they think the husband killed the children and made it look like she did it are engaging in absolutely absurd behavior that demonstrates how irrational, illogical and emotional they really are.
