The logical response to “the system is broken” narrative here is that any woman claiming PPD or really any major depressive disorder should not be allowed custody of her kids until we “fix the system.” These women don’t want to discuss the true ramifications of what they’re defending.

I've seen just as many anti-abortion women on my feed support Lindsay as liberal women. You'd have a point if this wasn't true.
luckily for me the only thing I’ve seen read or heard about this case is from this board.

But it sounds as if these conservative anti abortion supporters could be just seeing this national attention to highlight what their perceived lack of support for women’s mental health. Not necessarily supporting the monster or her actions.

My wife comes in from work saying ladies she works with believe the husband did it. I tell her that the defense has admitted that she did it. My wife responded...yeah but they didn't have all the evidence

At some point your only logical conclusions are that people like Lindsay should be A. involuntarily committed because she's having a psychotic break (which women don't want because you're trampling her rights!) or B. held accountable because she has knowingly exhausted her support and it led to the killings of her children (which women don't want because she wasn't in her right mind! See: option A)

The crazy part to me is the women I see constantly posting in favor of her are the most scared helicopter parents I know. They are terrified of literally everything harming their own children but will go to bat for an actual child killer.

of course they would. We are talking about people who are all for women's rights but in the same breath defend men claiming they are women and people who believe in sharia law....they are irrational, impractical and illogical.

Quite a few of them are learning about those ramifications through job and relationship losses at least.

Only in the western world.

I've spent several years living outside of the west. The women are categorically different.

The more and more I see about this woman and her supporters the more I wish he had killed her on the spot. fricked up situation all around.

If this is the case, is this trial simply American women consciously or subconsciously asserting that women should be able to murder their own living children without any criminal consequences?

Feminism had told women over and over and over that murdering your unborn child isn’t murder. Feminism has also painted men as the bad guys as well.

That has consequences. So in a situation like this, you see a lot of women emotionally connected to the woman in a battle of the sexes way and zero emotional connection that the story in from a mothers perspective.

If you are with a woman who is viewing the situation and is more moved by whether she was crazy, needed help, was pushed to the brink by the husband, didn’t get support angle and just isn’t moved by a mother murdering her own children you need to run.

I’m convinced that the only reason any woman supports her is because deep down they know they are crazy themselves and spend everyday trying to hide it from the world. If she can be absolved from killing her kids because of insanity, it gives them a sigh of relief that they are only a little crazy.

If she’s found NGI the Commonwealth can blame itself.
It’s the most inept prosecution I’ve ever seen-they’re lucky that they weren’t slapped with a mistrial with prejudice.
Unbelievably bad.
Oh, and for the record-her defense is not claiming PPD-they’re claiming PPP-Postpartum Psychosis.

I think, after reading, the material difference for her in relation to her defense on this is the psychosis state can last several days and "explains" the pre-meditation day(s) prior. That's the argument I believe.

She should rot in a hole forever.

My complaint about Lindsay's defenders is how their empathy for her has destroyed other considerations.

I can understand why someone can do something terrible but that amount of empathy doesn't mitigate the death or damage done.

Empathy is one of the most destructive emotions because it destroys impartiality and fairness. If you empathize too strongly with Lindsay you ignore the death of her children. And in terms of damage done that's obviously the biggest single. Your emotional distress just doesn't outweigh the life or health of another person.

I can empathize with the man in a road rage episode or a bar fight who kills someone but the proper lesson for me to extract is to avoid that behavior myself. Because my emotion (anger) doesn't allow me to right to harm or kill someone else. The right response after registering the empathy is to correct yourself emotionally and instruct your future self to avoid the violent behavior.

Fwiw I hope some of the tiktok morons are eventually financially or otherwise punished. You can have an opinion but people have just flat out lied about the husband in a way that goes beyond the line of innocent speculation.

We should be capable of holding both truths at once: postpartum mental illness can be devastating and deserves serious attention, and killing your children is an abhorrent act for which the person who committed it should be held accountable to the highest degree possible.
