What's stopping a credit card carrying person from also having cash? I keep cash on me and always try to negotiate a cash discount when the opportunity presents itself.

Most of us in Watson (long timers) all have Denham Springs addresses. Want to hear a surprise? Even property in St Helena parish on Nesom Rd has Denham Springs addresses. Been that way for over 50 years.

Utility bills probably hurt them too, but it’s a cost of doing business that should be reflected in the price of good, not in a utility surcharge. Same for card processing fees.

Your address is generally related to the closest post office. My grandparents in Pride used to have a Baker address but lived in the Central school district. Much of that area north of Central is like that.

And I can understand them adding a small fee or maybe just increasing pricing, but this $4 fee just sounds stupid.

Everything in moderation is good. An all cash society is bad and an all cashless transaction economy is not good either.

Linda's isn't good at all. The locals around here love it and I just don't get it. There's a Popeyes right across the street that has way better chicken.

25 or so years ago it was the only restaurant in town not connected to a gas station. Over the years it became the same as Fleur de Lis pizza, Justice Inn burgers, My mamas "fine dining"- people living on the memory thinking it is so delicious.

They can just close up shop and not have to worry about any of it. The debit card fee is nowhere close to $4, plus there's other advantages to cashless systems.
When people push for cash it's often because they're dumb and don't mind losing out on business, or because they think the tax evasion will make up for it.
I knew a lot of people that wouldn't go to Fleur De Lis because of their cash-only policy. They went outta business in spite of being rated as one of the best pizzas year after year. They don't have to pay ANY taxes on it now, I guess.
