What must business did was raise prices across the board by 4-5% to cover fees
Is tacky a synonym for "common?"

some of yall are idiots.
#1 They could raise their prises by 4% across the board and make everyone pay or they could charge the fee and have only those that want to use a card pay it. Like it or not, a business has to make a certain profit margin to make it worth staying open
#2 to the idiot talking about carrying cash....stfu. nobody carries cash anymore and you sound like an idiot. Its not 1992 anymore, grow up. and its certainly not trashy to not carry cash. in fact the people i know that mainly use cash....yea those are the trashy ones.
#3 its 4% at a place that sells fried chicken. its at most what....$2??? quit bitching about everything
i swear some of you go through life looking for any reason to bitch.

They did BOTH.

I agree. I dont really see how this can be the case.

The crazy thing about America is that you can go elsewhere for your fried chicken if you have a problem with their pricing. My guess is the chicken is pretty damn good and everyone claiming they won't go back because of it will be stuffing their face within the next week. grow up

Which is why my first post in this thread says that I am done with Lindas after 20 years. Not just because of this 4% charge, but at some point it isnt worth it anymore.
My response here was specifically regarding establishments enacting across-the-board price increases vs charges to use the card. I get doing one or the other. Lindas has done both. Plus the service is slow af and the chicken isnt phenomenal.

The REALLY big talk has been the McDonalds opening across the street from Lindas and the frappe machine being down. Lolol.

Anyone complaining about this 4% should just fry their own damn chicken. You are too stupid to be in public anyway.

I only use cash. F the banking system.
Posted on 12/29/22 at 8:33 am to TDTOM
Agreed. If that was the only problem at Lindas…

I thought that was against most credit card agreements. They will deny the business service if they are reported.

Bosco's in Mandeville was doing this. Luckily there is a drive through ATM (my bank) on the way.
Not sure if they still do this, but it was annoying as hell.

You are literally retarded

Grow up and put some cash in your wallet.
Lol. That’s like saying grow up and get an analog telephone with a land-line. You’re advocating for outdated solutions in place of more efficient and beneficial alternatives.
Cash loses value. There is no way to gain interest with cash. Credit cards gain in interest in the form of points/rewards for every transaction. It’s on the consumer to find a card that either has no annual fee or the annual fee pays for a benefit that exceeds the cost of the annual fee (most hotel and airline cards).
This is why businesses give discounts for cash. They are passing along the benefit of not paying a transaction fee to the customer.
Paying cash is a sign of being an out of touch grandpa, or some old school power poser that likes to display cash. I honestly can think of no benefit whatsoever to using cash unless you love buying other people’s crap at garage sales or antique stores - those folks are penny pinching and don’t want to mess with electronic payment methods. They are in the business of unloading crap to people that overpay for it (this is what keeps them in business). So they want customers to feel like they got a good deal, and if it helps them keep their tax bill down, that’s a win too.
Most cards have an initial sign up bonus after using it for $x value in transactions during the first y months of opening the account. I’ve opened new card accounts, received and used the bonus, closed the account and moved on to other cards. Eventually I’ve gone back to former cards I previously used and re-opened a new account, receiving yet another new customer bonus.
