I have a light colored truck, but the biggest factor for me has been the tint that I had installed. Went with ceramic with the maximum heat rejection possible. Even did the windshield with a nearly clear film. It'll change your life and save your interior.
Bought a gray truck a month ago. It’s in the shop right now getting ceramic coat and ceramic tint all the way around the cab. I’m really anxious to see how much it blocks out the heat.

What about light colored brothas?

My truck is black and I have the darkest tint legally allowed in Louisiana.
I regret it every august.

In August your truck is either 98 or 97 depending on the color.
Have you ever owned a black truck with black interior? Because in my experience it’s more like 120+ degrees after sitting in the sun in August.
There’s a huge difference.

I have had black, white, red, orange, blue, Silver, etc. Black interior, cream interior. Scientifically the darker colors with darker interiors are going to get hotter but when you are in Louisiana heat it doesn't matter. The best thing to do to cool off is to get it moving, not the color of the paint or interior. Get the color you want.

The biggest problem I have with owning a black vehicle is that it is hard to keep clean. Looks good when it has just been cleaned, but shows all the dirt thereafter.
It also has a light gray, cloth interior, which helps. Black leather would be problematic.

You have bigger issues than the color. Either go Ram or a Z71 with the 3.0, do not get the 5.3.

Nothing looks better than a freshly cleaned black vehicle. The problem is that it doesn’t stay clean more than a day.

I dunno but I do know we need more black trucks with black wheels and super dark tint. Can't get enough of those. Not enough out there.

You love paying super over inflated vehicle prices huh?

Aside from getting hot as hell, it’s also a lot harder to keep dark vehicles clean. I had requested a black work truck and they delivered a white one. I thank the heavens every day for that.

Edit: Just saw you bought the z71. Hope it gives you great service.

I don't think it matters during Summer

Bans coming? This thread is full of racism.

Good luck keeping it looking clean. I’ve had only one and fk that, white only for me from here on out

But I will never own a dark-colored vehicle again if I can help it. White or silver paint is so much easier to care for.
This is the real reason. Once my black Toyota camary is done , I'll never own a dark colored vehicle again.
