If I was a kid turning 16, I'd be begging for a flip phone and 1991 Truck. I can't imagine our generation agreeing to this. But as a parent of a 13 year old, sounds like a good idea!

Plenty of friends w kids use it

Coworker saw her son was at home way earlier than planned. So she went home and walked in on him getting a BJ from his skank of a gf (her words )

If they had that when I was that age, I would have lost my phone a lot or paid a friend to take it for a while after school.

The dude who shits on the younger generation for being sheltered snowflakes is actively making his kid the same thing he hates.

Was coming to say this. Over half the people on here who bitch about the younger generation being soft activity track their children's every move.

Unfortunately being able to see what your kid is doing online is becoming a necessity for raising healthy kids.

I think when my son gets to that age, he will have technology and he will know that we have the ability to access what he is doing if we want to.

I think people who secretly see what their kids are up to are fricking them up

Don't give a frick. I don't trust the rest of you motherfrickers as far as I could throw you.
This is for your protection.

Nope. I treat my kids the way I was treated. I’m not going to track my kids every movement. Where does trust come into play? I don’t trust my son to walk across the street correctly but I haven’t found him doing anything to lose that trust. Yet.

I make my kid turn it on when he is pre-fishing lakes by himself and in the woods, I know exactly where he's at if anything happens

My teen years: it was almost impossible for a person to get close to me without them first meeting my parents. No cell phones, no caller ID, no call waiting. They had to show up at my house. My parents did not need to track my every movement because they knew who I was with all the time.

2019: because of technology, our children can be pursued by people from all walks of life. They can be manipulated and lead down dark paths that they are gullible enough to not notice in advance. Therefore, a parent must use technology to combat the vulnerability from technology.

FYI: I have never used Life360 but I see why people do it.
