You need to take some time and figure out a plan. Working a job to pay the bills for now is not a bad thing, don't look down on yourself. I've been there, and others here have been as well. You control your own destiny.

nothing external can make you happy. you must give up all hope for a better past and move on. Its how many times you get up not fall. I have lost all my shite several times due to my alcoholism mostly. Those are just things. you need a connection to something bigger than you. Only that can give me meaning and direction and peace. Godspeed brother

Honestly, this is the best advice. People dwell on shite too much and it makes you even more depressed. I find when I am doing anything, doesn't matter what, I don't think about stuff like OP is describing. Granted, context is certainly key, but it's a start.
