Really don't know what kind of responses I'm looking for here but I figured I would get some feedback from you all since part of me really feels like just giving up at this point.

To give you some background on me, I just turned 36. Slightly overweight but not obese (5'7" - 180 lbs) but I know I don't eat that great. I'm trying to change that (trying to cut out most sugars, processed foods, more salads, vegestables, organic foods, etc.) and would like to drop 30 - 40 lbs. I am also trying to work out more and just joined Orange Theory a few months ago, trying to do 8 classes a month.

The medical issues that I suffer from are multiple. Here's the list:

Eosinophillic Asthma (I take Montelukast 10mg, Dymista, Breo Ellipt and Incruse Ellipta, going to try Nucala and I'm hoping if that works I can go off the inhaled corticosteroids).

GERD (Mostly diet related and it's pretty minor but I do take Nexium 20mg, gastro doctor wants me to try Pepcid 40mg but I'm hesitant to do it).

High Blood Pressure (I take Lisinopril 20mg. Completely hereditary, diagnosed at 23, my sister was diagnosed at 18, every member of my family has it).

Besides those I take a multivitamin, fiber supplement, loratadine 10mg and a nasal rinse every day.

For me it s*cks having so many medical issues at such a young age. I was hospitalized for 3 days last year due to pneumonia and now this year have missed a week of work because I got a viral/bacterial infection that caused me to get fungal laryngitis and has temporarily screwed up my voice.

It's frustrating, I feel like I have genuinely tried to work out more and eat better and it hasn't really helped. It's frustrating feeling like I'm a 36 year old trapped in a 66 year olds body. It's too bad there aren't lemon laws on the books for bodies because my body definitely feels like a lemon.

Again I don't really know what I'm expecting here, I guess any tips will be helpful. I just needed to get this off my chest. Not sure if there's much hope for me at this point. I don't want to give it but it's hard not to.

Try upping your water intake to about 90oz per day, good magnesium supplement and find a high quality probiotic. I think you will notice some mild changes.

Probably starting to go up there on it. This latest infection has just really got me down and depressed over the whole thing.

It just stinks because I feel so powerless to do anything about it.

The definition of good health is dying as old as possible. Treat your body well and fix what you can. Don’t stress over what you can’t control. Be the best possible version of yourself and enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Sounds genetic. Hate your parents for it.

Everything besides the asthma sounds diet related. Stop eating like a toddler. Cut out the cokes, frozen chicken fingers and fast food and I think things will improve. Also, try going on a walk or something every day after work.

Change your diet, seriously look into Whole30, and you will change your life. Most of your health problems could probably be traced to diet induced inflammation. Don5 give up find out what works and what doesn’t for you and you will be amazed at how much bette4 you feel. Orange Theory is a great way to get stronger too. Don’t quit.

I think that if you eat well, exercise what you can and then a little more, that qualifies as doing what you can.

Don’t sit on the sofa and eat chips or candy etc. do what you can with what you have.

Don’t give up!!

This probably isn't good medical advice, but if I was taking a bunch of medications to deal with a bunch of different health issues, I might consider a detox.

Take a couple of weeks off. Throw out all your prescriptions. Fly to somewhere cool and clear and dry. Like Jackson Wyoming. Spend time hiking and soaking in the clean air. See if you don't feel better.

Do you do any other exercise other than your 8 classes a month? If you don’t drastically change your diet you will need to do more to lose weight.

Would also recommend you get checked for sleep apnea. Very unusual to have high blood pressure at such a young age, and most ‘familial’ hypertension is OSA/weight related. Obstructive sleep apnea is a very common cause of hypertension in young people, and with your weight/BMI you would be at risk.

Ask your doctor about eating keto. Many believe it promotes anti-inflammatory properties. Also, look into the autophagy benefits of fasting as promoted by Dr. Jason Fung.

You shouldn’t have that many issues this early unless it’s genetic. Eat healthy is 90% of it. Splurge a little on Fri - Sun. Workout 5xs / wk. It’s not hard once it’s a routine.

Lay-off hard alcohol / beer. 2 glasses of wine per night.

.1 hrs x $850/hr = $85. Venmo me. Thanks

The High Blood Pressure is hereditary, every single member of my family has it. In fact my sister has to take a blood pressure and heart rate medication. The GERD I think is hereditary as well.

The only thing that probably isn't seems to be the Eosinophillic Asthma.

The crazy thing is that's what I've been trying to do. Given I haven't been working out 5x/wk but tried at least 2 - 3 times/wk. Now that I've mostly gotten over this infection I think I am going to try to up it to 5 times/week.

I am in the process of trying to cut alcohol out of my life completely. Maybe the occasional mixed drink or beer with friends and that's it. Heck this month alone I've probably had 3 mixed drinks the whole month. Haven't had any beer or wine.

Your first point is what scares me though. If I'm having this many issues this early what's going to happen when I'm in my 50s. I'm scared to even think about it.

Not to be a dick but this sounds like an overreaction based on your stated conditions.

Clean diet. Plenty of restful sleep. Exercise. Be active. Drink water. Intermittent Fasting. Vitamin D. Gut Health (Probiotics). Write in a journal daily. Laugh. Love. Breathe. The fastest way to get started is by taking the first step.

I've heard mixed things on probiotics. The fiber supplement I take has a prebiotic in it which I've heard is actually better for you.

Now given I'm not against taking probiotics temporarily since I was just on antibiotics and need to build my immune system back up. But long term are prebiotics or probiotics better?
