Lot of stupid in this post.

Understatement.

The funny thing in this is that I'm a parent that does NOT allow electronics at restaurants with my two 6 year olds.

But I'm smart and experienced enough as a parent to understand why some do it. I'm also not one of those who give much of a shite about what others do like so many around here and just everywhere in general.

Half of you motherfrickers have no clue what you are talking about. "Kids shouldn't have electronics". My son is non verbal, he uses his iPad to talk. It's not like he uses it to watch YouTube or Netflix. It has his speech program on it and a few learning apps. He's usually sitting there doing math problems. Not many 5 year olds are doing addition and subtraction already but he is. It's easy to judge someone without knowing the situation but you have no clue how bad it sucks when your kid is crying and they can't tell you what hurts, or what's wrong. That's the type of shite most people take for granted.

You obviously don’t have kids or you have freakishly good kids

I've said this in this thread already, but I'll say it again. Yes I have two kids and both are under 7. We don't allow any electronics at the dinner table whether at home or at a restaurant. We converse during our meal (gasp!) about our day. My kids tell me what they did at school that day, who they played with, what they learned, and what they had for lunch.

Are my kids perfect little angels in restaurants? No. But they're kids. However, because we actually put a little effort in, we don't need electronic devices to keep our kids under control. And unlike some of the people posting here we actually enjoy talking to our kids

Really would like to know why most people (and yes, probably most of you) allow your kids to bury themselves in iPads or iPhones at the dinner table. Is interacting with your kid too much for you to handle?

This isn't a high-horse thread. Im really interested in the mentality behind this

I bet this dude would also be bitching if the kids were bored and acting up.

We get it, you don't have kids. Good for you. Some people just like to spend time with their families without bothering other people out doing the same. Someday you'll get this.

Of all the try hard posts in this thread, this one might be my favorite.

Congratulations on being dad of the year. My kid is 3 and if an episode of Paw Patrol is going to help me and my wife be able to eat our meal, so be it.

Then what happens when you try to take it away? Kids that young don't need a screen shoved in their face.

Translation: sometimes our kids act like demons in public, but we'd rather prove that we're better than everyone else by not letting them play on an ipad than let the dozens of strangers trying to enjoy a night out do so.

You're the a-hole parent that needs to pay for a babysitter if you want to go out. Please know that everyone around you thinks you're a dick.

You've already said your kids don't behave at all times. Why are you such a shite parent that can't get his kids to behave. All you have to do is teach them to behave.

As stupid as the above sounds, it's exactly how you sound. You're absolutely on a high horse.

If your son likes Paw Patrol get him to check out Ranger Rob. I have no kids but I babysit my 3 year old nephew all the time for my sister.

Soooooo naive.

You even said yourself your own kids act up at restaurants sometimes so by your own logic you haven't taught your own kids how to behave.

Thanks for the advice. Are you a woman? You are very judgmental for a man. I'm glad you have the whole parenting thing figured out. But to expect a 3 year old to engage in meaningful conversations about their day at school for an hour or more while you're eating at a restaurant is not likely. Congrats on your perfect little angels.
