And I think LSP locking up criminals and actually checking DLs has down a lot to slow crime down.

Having spent some time near Oakland over the past 3 years and seeing what it looks like, I was extremely doubtful any former police chief from there would be a good hire for NOLA.
Crime has went down in NOLA for a variety of reasons, as other posters have said, and while her countenance doesn't exactly inspire confidence, things have gotten better.
Blaming her for what happened this morning is a stretch.

AS to the people she hit while on duty... Maybe they sort of wanted to be hit and sue the city.. If you know what I mean... Just because it says that doesn't mean that I believe it happened just that way, without further facts into the situation.
