Yesterday I was on the interstate there was a wreck.
These two assholes (not together mind you) decide that it’s appropriate for them to go between all the cars right in the middle of the road and pass everybody

I saw one of the guys almost hit a truck because the guy scooted over and he fricking punched the truck and kept going and I thought to myself I would love to GTA this motherfricker ….nobody wants to give you or deserves to give you some sort of special consideration just because you choose to drive something with two wheels and no cab.
fricking douche bags . fricking douche bag.

many states have laws written to allow motorcycles to pass in the middle during a sustained traffic stop. Got to do it carefully however.

I don't know where this guy lives but it is still illegal in Louisiana. I don't ride, but I still wouldn't do it if it was legal, not at any considerable speed anyway. The risk doesn't seem worth it.

Lane splitting while traveling the interstate is incredibly dangerous and should be illegal if it is not. I do not know the laws for motorcycles.

I am for lane splitting at a red light.. Let the mosey up to the front without taking up much room, and take off once the light turns green.

Also, they suck a whole lot less than 18 wheelers. frick every single one of those guys.

More nimble vehicles filtering through traffic harms no one.

The dudes stuck in traffic get jealous though.

Or California. Lane-splitting is legal, and crazy.

I agree with you. I had a situation just the other day with one of these motorcycle clubs on the basin bridge between Laffayette and BR. Two of them get separated in the traffic and are behind me, tailgating me close. They think they can just direct everyone on the road because their club has to stay together. The guy then takes the left shoulder on the basin that is not wide at all and rams past everyone to catch up. All of these were dangerous acts. MLK had a dream, and I do too. My dream is to watch one of these assholes learn their lesson, live and in person.

If everyone is stopped and it is safe for them to do this, why does it matter? Won’t this create less traffic, since their bikes aren’t taking up any space in the build up of cars?

My concern with filtering isn’t that they are doing it; it’s that they are relying heavily on others to not do something stupid. Even when it is legal, that doesn’t mean drivers are pay attention to them doing it. One open door or trying to change lanes (if there’s an opening by chance in stalled traffic) could be fatal.

California is the only state that allows full on lane splitting. 5 others allow filtering if the traffic is moving below certain speeds.

I almost hit a guy at the 10/110 split a few weeks ago. Traffic was moving about 10 mph and he was riding between vehicles at about 40 mph.
