I took a new job in California in July 2016. November 2016 we had people screaming f*** Trump at the top of their lungs (no joke, screaming where the whole floor could hear), refusing to work and wanting to join protest and marches it outside.

No one was reprimanded or fired. I can't say the same if I had yelled f*** Obama or f*** Biden.

That's a hostile work environment.

Expressing political views without first knowing your audience or reading the room ASIDE... for the above reason alone you should look for another job ASAP. Why stay for a year+ and be miserable, knowing you will eventually leave anyway. May as well leave now and then be honest in your next job interview. "I worked at XYZ company for a month but did not feel I was fit in their culture and operating methods. I would rather work for a company I can use my strengths and grow with... etc".

My two cents, stay until you find a new job and not a day longer.

And STFU about religion and politics at work. Or any personal BS for that matter.

Why would you do this? What would you think is the advantage of getting fired?

Sweet Jesus how do some of you dumbasses even have a job in the first place.

This is the biggest problem I have with the current climate. I don't give a shite if you wear frick trump shirts, but don't tell me anything when I wear my Obama is a loser shirt.

At the last job I had before becoming at SAHM again, everyone was in shock when I said I did not vote for Obama either time (despite being a registered Dem). No one ever brought politics up again, besides the fact that they thought I'd write them up for no reason since I was the supervisor and we weren't supposed to be talking about politics at work (government job).

Only the privilege class can openly discuss politics at work but still supervisor sounds like a little bitch. If really a guy he must be a bottom.

Still until you get something better or just can’t stand it i would do best you can at job and just job at work (no social or political commentary just making work value known and being known to be good to work with) while learning all HR aspects company requires from your supervisor (and obviously yourself as well). If what you did was fireable offense it’s already in progress. If it’s not by itself fireable and if your supervisor wanted you gone and was smart he would have not told you that and would be working behind the scenes to get rid you while acting fair and even to your face just like everyone else.

Buy more time to find something else with possibility of this job working out while making supervisor look a little bad when what others see isn’t what he has probably been telling people.

With the way he handle that who knows he might not be considered that great by his superiors and out of there giving you a fresh start with another supervisor.

If this is the case the worst thing you can do is leave them hanging after taking the job. They’ll shite on you every chance they get.

You better put your head down, bust your arse, and do some great work. I disagree politically with a lot of people I work with, but at the end of the day as long as we get our work done it’s irrelevant. They’ll get over your politics if you produce.

So you’re a conservative, because only the left is that intolerant.

Better Call Saul reference

Specifically, “Slippin Jimmy” McGill wanted to quit his job with a law firm but couldn’t afford to pay back his signing bonus, so he went on an active campaign to get fired in order to retain it.

Didn’t say it was a SMART move but one way to leave a job where you don’t want to be there.

Take the new job baw. I have friends that have job hopped and they are all currently doing well. I wouldn't go around talking politics/religion at work though but if the guy is that big of a baby then why would you want to work in such a toxic workplace?

Because when you realize a job truly doesn't matter, you're free.

Age 20, I spent almost 12 months of nights playing videos games on the big screen of a hotel lobby because I didn't need the job. I finally had to quit.

I was the most productive employee they had.

I used to drink 6-10 pints right before my shift so it would all hit right when I finished my work
