Tough spot....I'll tell you though, a job hopper is a major red flag from a hiring perspective.

Religion and politics are two topics to stay away from while in the job environment. They both spell drama for whomever brings them up.

Wow. Have you ever had anybody tell you to go frick yourself? That's what you just did to you. It's a bummer.

Get a new job and don't even add this one to your resume.

Calm down. Go home tonight and shave half your head. Die the other half green. Add the she/her/hers to your email signature. Borrow a friend's reptile and bring it in as your emotional support animal. Tell your boss it would be tragic if you lost your job.

*Stay - if you’re a strong enough worker your politics will drift to the background and you’ll be better for it.
*Assuming stated beliefs fall within the reasonable range, and you didn’t go on a rant saying “X political figure should be shot” or anything else that can be considered a crime

This guy sounds like a major loser regardless of what his political beliefs are.

Yeah, you probably shouldn't have done that without having a good feel for the people around you.

I really do not want a bunch of one year jobs on my resume but I'm also not meshing here at all and feel like an outcast and awkward.
If you are really miserable to the point where you dread going into work each day, you should just start looking now. If it's manageable, maybe tough it out for a little while longer. Job hopping constantly will eventually come back to bite you. That being said, if you are working in a high demand profession or you interview really well, it's something you can overcome.

Two lessons.
Never talk politics.
It’s easier to look for a job with a job.

Why would you think voicing your political views to your boss as a new employee was a good idea? Don’t be a job hopper is my advice. Future employers take note of that sort of thing.
Meh. In general it’s not good to be a job hopper but in this case if you’ve truly assessed the situation and feel like there is no upward mobility, it’s time to make a move.
Just know that there will be similar issues anywhere you go so try to learn from your prior mistakes.

Why people find it necessary to talk politics at work is absolutely beyond me. You're there to do a job and be cordial to your coworkers. No one gives a frick what you believe in politically
As for hopping, if you were somewhere previously for several years and hopped from one company after a few months, I think it reflects more on that company than you. However, if you've made it a habit to spend no more than 8-12mo at each job, it starts to look bad quick

Agreed. He was only at his previous job a year, but changed jobs because he moved. He could probably convince some potential employers that he would still be at the first company had he not relocated. Just ending up landing a nightmare job after that.

No shite. I work for a global tech company and look like a fricking farmer, but I know not to say shite to around politics to 99% of the firm.

I learned this lesson the hard way... thankfully I haven't faced any repercussions, but I was a dumbass for doing it... if you are a conservative, your best bet is to just keep your mouth shut.

Either find a new job or go full Slippin Jimmy and go out of your way to piss them off and get fired.

It sounds like a work place lawsuit waiting to happen.

If you can't be professional and contain your political feelings for 8 hours a day, I wouldn't want you working for me.

Just identify as a black woman trapped in a white man's body that should buy you at least 2 months.
