My dad's side was mostly JW. I didn't have much of a relationship with his parents. They refused to associate with my mom who is Catholic. Took a while after their death for my dad's brother and his wife to come into the picture as aunt and uncle.
My dad always considered himself nondenominational (he also claimed Lutheran sometimes, probably that whole God's grace alone thing ). Though he does still have odd beliefs and opinions that are rooted in his family's religion.

Jehovah's Witnesses
It's a cult, like the Mormons. They don't follow the bible.

This show’s premise was just as weird as any cult-
A UPS driver, a secretary, and her live-in elderly father is weird and cult-like?

Following the bible makes something not a cult?

All this religious crime and bs turned me away from any organized religion.
So i became quaker aka 'Friends'. Their main rules are to be fair and honest.
That it is not up to us to tell others how to live or what to believe and that you relationship with whatever kinda god you believe in is between you and God. No expensive middleman aka preacher needed. They dont ask for money either.
Quakers can be christian, jewish, buddhist, even athiest and all are accepted. Just be a decent human and all is good.
Fun fact, for decades the sitting presidents children have attended a local Quaker school, Sidwell Friends school.

anyone who spent the better part of their adult life pushing and propogandising a cult like religion(scientolog) Ms Remini should STFU

Maybe, but so far she is hitting some organizations that are pretty cultish. In the sense that they isolate themselves from others and push "non-believers" out.
I had a friend in high school who was JW. Rarely ever spoke to her outside of school. Wasn't allowed. Good family, very smart children. She was gorgeous and had a great personality. Got along with everyone. But only at school. Was not allowed to hang out with people not in the family's religious circle. For instance her mom knew who I was as we had been in classes together for years and would not let us work on a school project together outside of class. Yet she was allowed to hang out with any boy that was in that JW group. Multiple of which ended up in rehab for drugs, one ended up dying from an OD. Yet since I was catholic, not going to happen. I don't know any catholic, Baptist, jew, etc that acts like that. Maybe when it comes to marriage, but not simply interacting with other people.

I think she's aiming in the places that aren't being questioned.
With Catholics it's pretty open to up and leave and no organized consequences. The spotlight is already on its big problem of child abuse and the administration shell games.

So she is well qualified to comment on it.
She spent her whole life caught up in some BS. I could understand her wanting to expose it and keep folks away.

I'm watching now and apparently you can be disfellowshipped (shunned) and kicked out for something like having pre-marital sex
interestingly, Serena Williams is a JW and she 100% should have been shunned for getting pregnant out of wedlock and her behavior at times during tennis. Not that i'm advocating for the shunning as i think it's a misguided notion and in Christian teaching, shunning is only for repetitive, unrepentant sin. Even then, it's only supposed to be for a time. i feel like when one of them makes it big (MJ, Prince, SW) they let a little bit of bad behavior slide.
