Here is the Entergy outage map
Entergy outage map
So far not bad.
This is only Entergy's lines though. It doesn't show outages if managed by local municipalities. For instance zoom in on Welsh and you see no lines at all. My parent's cameras in Welsh are offline which means power is out there

Had a cousin in Grand Lake staying until the Sheriff showed up. He’s evacuated now thankfully.

Chalmette Katrina man you talked about
Actually, that's another guy in that video. That's a good one, but this dude's video was crazy dramatic. I can't find the video anywhere online, but I found that he actually lived in Slidell. His name was Kennard Jackley. All I could find is a pic of him below. This is him...he actually sold the video online for a while to help with his finances. I will keep looking for that video because it was crazy.

I hope they just have the worst experience of their lives instead of the last experience.

Well of course not, why would and how would they have access to other providers data?

When they go door to door they usually make note of those residents who refuse to leave so they know where to look after.

150 people in Cameron Parish refused to evac. Just mentioned on TWC
Can't imagine how they could decide to stay there with this freight train barreling down on them. Just sad.

Could see them going to Cat 5 on this update considering the winds above the surface. The dropsonde obviously couldn't stay in those winds the whole way down, hence the shift in direction.

They probably went house to house, every single one, and kept track of who refused to leave.

No increase in winds on new advisory. No decrease, either. I don’t think we will see a Cat. 5, but that doesn’t really matter.

say you have pressure of 1000 and 999 with one mile between them. That wind will be much lower than if the pressure is 1000 and 980 with one mile between them.
You can think about it like a ball at the top of the hill. The steeper the hill (the larger the pressure difference) and the faster the ball rolls down the hill.
I need to pray on this one a bit.

Yikes
If there are any people on the planet prepared to ride out a storm like this, it's those in Cameron parish.
Probably playing music and passing around a jar as we speak.

Yeah but didn’t they say it would land as a Cat 3? It’s teetering with a Cat 5
