LC Police Chief on KPLC
saying people already calling wanting Police to come check on them and asking about what if, can they be rescued.
Jillian from KPLC below- says she's getting Facebook Msg from people that stayed and now are scared.

A sheriff showing up will typically scare you into leaving!

No increase in winds on new advisory. No decrease, either. I don’t think we will see a Cat. 5, but that doesn’t really matter.

150 mph it is. Which yeah, is plenty.

Just saw on twitter some are going to ride it out in recreational vehicles...

quote:

150 people in Cameron Parish refused to leave, planned to weather #Laura in everything from elevated homes to recreational vehicles. “It’s a very sad situation. We did everything we could to encourage them to leave.”

So is it too late for them to go get them? I know they said they were on their own but wonder if there’s still time.

Well of course not, why would and how would they have access to other providers data?
my only point is bc Entergy's outage map looks pretty good so far doesn't mean there isn't plenty of outages out there. There are lots of small towns that manage their own lines that won't show on that map

LC Police said they can't go get them.
The problem is, there is no where in the Parish or LC area to bring them that is safe.
That's why they offered people free bus rides and free hotel rooms in other cities for the last 3 days.

I want to say they’ll go u til a certain Wind speed.

Acadiana ambulance said they’ll stop at 35 mph winds. Hope no one has a heart attack at home.
