It's had an eyewall for like 24 hours and it was pretty big to start with. It's not that weird.

It hasn’t had an eye very long. It’s not unusual for them to have a solid day of strengthening up to a cat 5 before weakening. They don’t stay cat 5 very long. It’s just unfortunate that Laura decided to go almost cat 5 and ran out of time before land.

yeah i guess with these other storms have really formed far far away and they go through a few but this one like you said hasn't had an eye for that long
