Probably a dumb question, but the eye looks as if it's getting bigger, that's a good thing right ?

Yep. I was in Sulphur one weekend in March of 2006 and had a few hours so I drove down to Holly Beach / Cameron.

That's all I remember seeing except for a tattered American flag on a pole that someone had stuck back into the ground.

It's the difference in pressure over distance that makes the wind blow harder. The pressure is also a rough estimate of how much heat it's picking up (how powerful it is) but the big thing about the pressure is how quickly it changes going across the eyewall.

Let's say you have pressure of 1000 and 999 with one mile between them. That wind will be much lower than if the pressure is 1000 and 980 with one mile between them.

You can think about it like a ball at the top of the hill. The steeper the hill (the larger the pressure difference) and the faster the ball rolls down the hill.

If you and I are oil wrestling, the less pressure I apply on you, the more force you are able to generate

An inconvenience for us, a nightmarish hell on earth for them baws.

Here's one to their strength: To the strength of those men who will soon buckle their chinstraps and carry on when this bitch is dead and gone.

Ah salute!

He certainly didn’t have a problem with that many people being together inside at the candidate fundraiser he attended Friday night. Hypocrite
