The HWRF has been throwing out Cat 4s with pressures in the 930s for days. Euro by yesterday was running 930s out too.

The NHC is typically conservative on their strength forecast because if they're low, everyone gets all upset about busts. The discussions mentioned the potential for rapid strengthening and being a solid major hurricane.

I know we've been discussing the major hurricane potential for days now.

I don't know man. That's why I never trust intensity forecasting on these models especially when you have super prime conditions in the Gulf for PED fuel. I think Marco threw a wrench in the projections is a big reason why the intensity forecasting was off. I'm sure Duke or rds could give their opinions on it or facts, w/e.

Praying for all in harms way. My family has a farm in Desoto Parish and they look to be directly in this bitches path later tomorrow. My mother evacuated to my sisters in Shreveport. Just lost my father 3 weeks ago. If its as bad as they are saying then not sure how my mother will be able to cope with another tragedy.

Stay safe everyone. Thanks for this thread. I'm getting a hell of a lot more information here than anywhere else.

Ignore that. If it's not rds, Duke, rt3, or slackster, ignore it. If it's slack or rt3 take it with a grain of salt. If it's Duke or rds take it as truth.

Outside of the CPSO folks that were required to stay, I don’t know anyone that did.

Where did you evacuate to?

Current situation 1 mile from the coast in sabine pass. 30-40mph winds. Nothing major but eerie feeling they are saying

Oh and about 15' waves breaking on the coast

My sister is working at Memorial. We convinced my mom to GTFO and go to Lafayette.

This is just a nagging feeling of helplessness watching here in Houston. I can do nothing and it sucks.

Some fool for fox 8 is at the casino in LC. Did his employer make his stay there? I imagine he has a family too. Idk if any story is worth your life.

Prayers for your sister. We live south of 210 and are feeling very helpless right now. Got to Mandeville to visit family yesterday afternoon.
