The southern portion of that levee and the floodgate is 17 feet high. Water won’t top it from this storm.

Is Brett Adair the best stream running right now?

Any other good links to stream?

I'm doing my best to keep the "Live Cam" thread up to date with as many links as I discover. Thanks to those who have shared in here and there

LDL was only a few months old when Rita hit. Rita wiped out one of their competitors. Isle of Capri may have some issues this time but they are building a landbased casino soon so maybe they don't care.

I'd definitely consider heading to Arkansas if for no other reason than comfort of living after the storm.

Still a lot of traffic on the sky cams I am watching. Hope it's people leaving but there is traffic going both ways so who knows.

So how will we know the the VWS is acting on #Laura's inner core?

Watch KLCH radar, where eroding southern eyewall may be the first sign VWS is beginning to advect dry air into the inner core. That is not apparent yet (weak S echos now likely just distance from radar).

So I’m currently deployed, but my family is at Ft. Polk. I’m completely ignorant when it comes to hurricanes. I’m keeping up with the latest posts from Vernon Parish and Ft. Polk authorities, but I know y’all are pretty smart about this kind of stuff. Should I tell my wife to take our daughters to her Mom’s house in Arkansas or will they be fine?

My parents live near Ft. Polk.

They will get strong winds and more than likely be without power for several days.

The main hazard will be falling trees.

Other than that, they should be ok.

Those Skycams you posted are going to be some pretty good viewing if they stay a bit clear of fogging or water drops

MyRadar currently says there is a 95% chance of rain in Cameron. Probably can bump that up
