I mean, short of completely redesigning infrastructure to the tune of billions of dollars what can you really do to "prepare" for a monster major hurricane?
They want that "Ike Dike"

CATTLE ON THE MOVE: It’s not just people who need to get to safety! High Island Bridge is shut down right now to allow cattle to safely get to higher ground in Winnie.

That's a pretty shocking number to see. I assume that's including a lot of facilities in east Texas. It'll be interesting to see how the manufacturing sites in Lake Charles fair.

It's within radar range. For the love of whatever deity you believe in, use the radar out of Lake Charles to watch the motion.

How much damage do these refineries and chemical plants take during a hurricane?
The biggest issue will be flood waters on electric parts and motors of the such that will need to be repaired. Extended down time for sure.

If you have a radar app, just look at what the Lake Charles radar is showing you. You can see the eye now.

The frick does this have to do with a hurricane?

Cameron LNG, Cheniere LNG, Venture Global LNG which is under construction are all going to be fricked. I think everything is sulphur will suffer major infrastructure damage. Valero Port Arthur is backed up to Port Arthur Bay and the highest point is the admin bldg. at 15’... expect gas prices and spikes in chemicals for a bit. This is a bad one man.
