You are preaching to the choir....elections should be decided on political values, policy, and past record...not how many hookers you slept with, how many times you cheated on your wife, or who you beat to get into the running from your own party.

I hope this state has learned a lesson, but I assume they have not.

Link?

Everything I’m seeing says that a shelter in Calcasieu Parish is not safe because of proximity to the storm. The local bus service is taking citizens to shelters that will be safe.

Lake Charles Mayor Nic Hunter said city buses on Tuesday will take citizens to Burton Coliseum where they will be loaded onto a state-administered bus and taken to a place of safety.

Thanks!

Can you speak to the power question here? Do these main thoroughfares do well vs neighborhoods like your mother's?

You just hope now for one or more of the following:

Dry air intrusion from the pocket to its west.

Shear as it approaches the coast.

An eyewall replacement cycle or 3.

Shallower shelf waters take a toll.

I don’t live very far from there, and I’m riding it out, as I expect most in Lafayette will.

That may not be correct. Last time I drove through there Google maps was adamant about me getting off I-10 saying that it was closed, even though it wasn't.

If this thing had another hundred or so miles of water to play with it would be incredibly scary

What's your opinion? I know nothing of the area. I tried looking for hotels with backup Generator from Google maps and didn't see one.

That area will probably be better than most as far as not losing power or quick restoration. The State Police Troop E office is about 1/2 mile away and several important medical buildings are nearby.

Go have lunch at Spirits while in town.

Good luck

Just went through Lake Charles 30 minutes ago and traffic was flowing fine in both directions.

Not going to have to worry about wobble watchers too much today, since we already can see the eye from the Lake Charles radar.

Also, really glad my trial version of Level2 hasn't lapsed yet.

Thanks!

I got really sick last week and required two IVs and a blood draw for a condition. Left me weak. Hell of a time for an evac!

I really appreciate the insight.

Construction. Interstate isn't closed and its not related to the storm.
