This is about what I expected to wake up to see. Sigh. And the timing isn’t great either - not much hope for any substantial eyewall replacement with only 18 hours or so until landfall.

And I’m in quarantine until Saturday so my options are limited.

Anyone who tries to ride this out in Cameron or Holly Beach probably isn’t going to make it. This time tomorrow the coastline will be 10-15 miles inland.

find yourself some type of containers, bowls, 2 liter bottles, water bottles, hell even 1 gallon ziplock bags and fill them with water. Pack your freezer with these and leave enough room for your dry ice. Unopened this should keep the freezer pretty cold for at least 3 days. each time you open the freezer or fridge will reduce the time the ice lasts.

Then it looks like it took a jog north on satellite. Damn satellites always give me fits lol.
Was wondering if anyone noticed that. It took a decidedly northern jog the last half hour or so.

Having lived through this I truly feel terrible for the people in the path of this monster. If you are even contemplating staying anywhere South of I-10 DON'T. Get out and save you and your family. God Bless!

What are we expecting to happen in BR? I was supposed to fly in tomorrow but I think it’s safe to say that won’t happen now.
They may cancel the flight just because, but it’s not going to be bad in BR. Breezy, but nothing too bad.

Buoy is about 20mi from eye reading 90kt gusts and 30+ foot waves already. Unfortunately there aren’t many buoys off Cameron Parish’s shores on the continental shelf and we won’t see what happens when those large ocean waves begin to shoal on the shelf. As one may recall, Ivan holds the record for 90+ foot waves generated LINK
