I think that’s directly because mandatory evacuation would be taking place during Marco. I pulled back into Lake Charles right after Rita passed before any cleanup. No thanks.

I've never made a decision on evac because government told me to do so. If someone thinks they should leave, they should leave.

Lake Charles people...staying or evacuating?
I'm staying with my dogs for sure. I haven't decided for the rest of the family yet.

We're pulling all of our customers' vehicles inside tomorrow evening. I'll pull my camper inside too. That may be where I ride it out.

worried about your duck blind baw?

Don't worry, it'll frick the teal hunting all to hell no matter where it lands. At least thats what I'm blaming my inevitable opening day failure on.

Agreed, after I posted it I thought “eh, she didn’t realize she should click upload, so let’s just let it be for the day”

You gonna ride it out in the metal building in your office? Prolly better off at your house honestly.

We heading to Dallas today. No reason to play with it since I have kids and I don't wanna get caught in traffic.

50/50 shot I lose the roof on my new house I'm building. I'm in the cul de sac and has no windows yet. Got all the hurricane clips on today and they will be cleaning all day.

f you didn't have kids, you would _______________?? I'm torn ... I don't want to leave against better judgement but I don't want to stay.

A) we’re probably looking at a Thursday early morning landfall, and with the speed of the storm, conditions won’t likely deteriorate until Wednesday evening. While I would be prepping today, you’ll have time to decide to leave. Places may be booked and whatnot if you leave late, but you’ll just have to drive further.

B) This is the GFS wind gusts estimates at 3AM Thursday. If you didn’t like Barry at night, you won’t do well with gusts like this.

C) For those trying to figure out where to go, the GFS on this run is calling for hurricane force gusts as far north as Monroe. Granted, I believe the models don’t do overly well estimating inland winds on deteriorating systems, but still, Alexandria is not exactly a peach of an option. You’d want to go east or west this time around, and I’d suggest east for this reason - by the time you leave on Tuesday or even Wednesday, you’ll just have to get east of the current storm location to be safe. If it’s due south of Houma, anything east of Houma will be relatively safe on this path.

So does this mean we still have not had 2 active storms in the gulf at the same time since like the 50s? Suck on that 2020!
