C) For those trying to figure out where to go, the GFS on this run is calling for hurricane force gusts as far north as Monroe.

Well you can make money selling dove hunts when the storm knocks the sunflowers down.

In theory, if I left Central LA to go to Laplace would I be doing myself any favors?

CENLA? Yes, on this current path.

Central, LA near BR? Not necessary imo.

I was trying to figure out if I wanted to head back south to experience the storm at home. It would be funny if Monroe gets it worse than Baton Rouge. I could just stay here. Hopefully it cancels our first thermo quiz. That shite is whack.

We'd just be going to my sons house in Lafayette BUT my neighbor who works for the Police Jury had a good point -- if we leave the parish, we may not be able to get back in ... forgot that it happened for Rita.

My husband will be chomping at the bit to get back and check his rice bins and get electricity restored if needed and equipment condition checked.

I'm not good at adulting sometimes.

Good thing we canceled everything today

Cancelling for Marco was probably a little gun shy, even without the benefit of hindsight.

I think the combination of it being a Monday plus Laura uncertainty right behind it tipped the scales to just shut it down.

It was a cat 1 hurricane.

If schools don’t cancel and Marco ends up hitting parents are rioting. They did the right thing. It should have just been for today though and not multiple days.

Thermo made this prospective ME student take a hard left into the humanities.

My worry was that Marco was going to be a complete sunny blue sky day nothingburger and people would let their guard down and not prepare for Hurricane Laura which will actually be a monster. Step one of my worry is complete.
